Mastex King Size Moist and Dry Heating Pad

I almost didn't buy this product due to some of the previous poor recommendations. However, I have looked for a dual voltage pad for many years and really needed one. I am an international teacher, currently in India (220 v). The stresses and challenges of traveling long distances, adapting to new cultures and lifestyles, keeping up with middle schoolers, and in general, being in my sixties, often results in shoulder and neck strain. I have been using the spa type neck warmers, but they cool off quickly, and I don't always have a microwave...nor a bathtub and lots of hot water for water therapy! This pad heated up immediately! The extra long size covers my whole back, shoulder, neck area. On high it was a bit warmer than I wanted after the first 15 minutes, but on low, it was perfect for several hours. It could use a medium setting and an automatic shut-off feature for safety, but I still gave it 5 stars as I have been desparate for this product for years. Perhaps some of the previous users received defective pads or were in an area with intermittent electricity, but I can't imagine anyone not loving the one I have. If the company adds the above 2 mentioned improvements, I would buy another one!

I was hopeful & after the first 2 uses I would have written a glowing review. Unfortunately when I went to use it the third time it cut off and would never heat back up. If you buy it be prepared to see if the 5 year warranty works. I would do that except that since it died on day 3 of a 2 month trip there was no way I was going to use valuable luggage space & weight to haul the sorry thing around for the rest of 2 months.

Excellent product--this is the 3rd one we've ordered over the past few years (gets heavy use!) The best thing is that it does not have one of those silly turn-off timers that so many heating pads have, so tt doesn't turn off in the night and leave my poor wife's rheumatic feet freezing,

I purchased this heating pad for my wife for a trip to France. It works with 220v voltage and has a two-prong Europlug plug - this means it should work in most of continental Europe, but will not work in the UK without a simple plug adapter (no voltage conversion should be necessary).I would disagree with this pad being described as "king size", but it is adequate to cover maybe a third of one's back from side-to-side; I would say this is just fine for those who suffer from either lower or upper back pain, but probably not both at the same time. The heat produced on its highest setting, while not super hot, is adequate to provide relief. I didn't find that it took an undue amount of time to heat up - maybe ten minutes to fully heat at its highest setting.This is not a great heating pad, but given the reason one would purchase it (overseas travel), I would recommend it. It is cheaper than buying one in Europe, and the convenience of being able to buy it before leaving, without having to search around for one in stores is a definite plus. The other alternative is to purchase a very expensive, bulky, and/or potentially unsafe voltage converter in order to be able to use your favorite US heating pad, but if possible, I would recommend giving this one a try first.

Takes a LONG time (roughly 40 minutes) to heat up! Once heated, works well. It does the job but it just takes a very long time compared to the ones in the States.

After opening, we discovered the plugs were made for European outlets. We had to go through the hassle of ordering an American adaptor from Amazon. Once we receive the adaptor, and try this pad, will we be able to accurately rate it.

Ordered this for our trip to Europe. My wife has a bad back and needs a good heating pad daily. She used it frequently for three weeks, and it worked just fine. It's large but not cumbersome. The only minor issue is it has only high and low heats ... nothing in between. But this didn't cause her any problem. Some poor reviews of this product said it failed to heat much, which would occur if run on US voltage. This one worked great on European voltage, for which it is designed.

I dislike 👎🏿 it took too long to arrive, the heating pad is for the pain in my lower back.
