Rockville RKL65MBW (2) 6.5" 700W Marine Boat Speakers, 4 Ohm, LED Lights, Black/White Grilles, Waterproof, Perfect for Boats and ATVs

I purchased 8 of these in December 2020. They were installed in my 27' center console which is kept in the Bahamas year round. Exclusive salt water usage with raw salt water washdowns to remove fish blood while out for the day. I am hard on my equipment. The boat is not kept covered. 100% in the Bahamas sun and weather. This is why I do not spend the extra on much higher rated speakers.I had 1 out of 8 fail. The tweeter in the center of the speaker corroded an became loose. I have just installed the second set. 4 years is a good record for marine speakers!The sound quality is good not great. I have noticed a big improvement after I switched to a better pre-amp equalizer app for my phone. The prior speakers were Sony which I cannot find the exact match again. They sounded great! But they did not make is much more than a year.I recommend the set with both the black and white grill covers. The white ones become yellow over time. When I notice it this time around I will swap out to the black covers.I am not impressed with the volume based LED lights. Choice is red or blue. The intensity, even at night, is not really noticeable until you get to a very high volume. I will be testing the led light plug to see if they can be powered separately. If this is possible, the blue light would be a great replacement for interior courtesy lights.

A few months later they’ve been working really hard with no issues whatsoever.

they work like they are supposed to and the waterproof part is good too. however about 3 months into using them I had to disconnect the lights on them because they were drawing to much current to make the speakers work properly

Really nice speakers, completely misleading description.Description states - "PACKAGE INCLUDES: (2) Pair Rockville RKL65MBW 6.5" 700w Marine Boat Speakers w/LED+Black/White Grilles, (1) Rockville ATV420 4 Channel UTV/Motorcycle Bluetooth Amplifier IP65 Micro Amp"Ordered 1st time, no amps. Amazon warranty replaced for missing parts, replacements have no amps.I want the speakers so I ordered different amps separately and will chalk it up to Amazon misrepresenting what they're selling.

Sound is good. However the LED lights only come on if the volume is 90% or higher. Not worth it.

Needed some door speakers for our sxs Kawasaki KRX 1000. Looked at the reviews on several and decided to try these out. Wanted a marine rated speakers and needed one that could get wet when riding or cleaning the sxs. The size and power rating was a good match for the door mounting area and depth along with the amp i used which it rated at 200 watts total so 100 watts a channel. I didnt hook up the led lights in speakers didnt want the light show. I suggest you purchase different speaker wires. They provide thread size wiring as you can see in the picture i posted of what i used instead. These speakers are plenty loud and have a pretty balanced sound. I used my iPhone to set the equalizer and that helped out with sound quality im just using a Bluetooth enabled amp for power no head unit. Our sxs is pretty loud in the cab at 30-40 mph and we can hear the music no problem at that speed now. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good balanced sounding speaker that is marine rated and at a great price.
