Excellent supplement, not a great primary source
The author's notation is different form the ACTEX and ASM manuals but easy enough to follow. The book is comprehensive but concise. Best used at a reference while working through the SOA released questions. Indeed, the index in the back suggests the book was designed with this purpose in mind. If you've never seen a "pure math" text book before this guide might frightened you. But if you are taking actuarial exams it's likely that you have. Use this book as a reference and not a primary source.
