Love the colour
I haven't had too much practice with this pencil, but I do know I'm a bit heavy-handed and if you are thinking of these pencils learn how to draw light and deal will some pencil lines showing through. I'm just using this for my sketchbook and inking with a paint maker. It does its job like every other red pencil but and here's a positive BUT where can you find multiple red pencils of pretty decent quality for $1 and some cents (per pencil)? I say it's worth the money if you like sketching in red and arent to OCD about some lines showing.

Great under paintings or ink
I prefer these over standard graphite which muddies up colors.

They work great with other mediums.
I bought these to use alcohol markers over them, and they didn't disappoint! As far as I've seen, you can also use inks and water based markers.

UPC sticker ruins the pencil
The pencils themselves are fine--exactly what I've ordered before. They come in a box of 12 and inside the box EACH pencil has a UPC label at the top (near the eraser) that wraps around the entire shaft. You cannot remove the label without leaving a bunch of sticky residue that won't come off--and removing the label also pulls some of the red paint off. These issues make a nice new pencil into a dirty, old-looking mess.

A misleading product description
So in the product description it says your receiving 1 pack of 12. I actually received 1 pencil. Just a heads up! I thought certainly I was buying a pack of 12. Dumb!

Bar code sticker on each pencil. Made in Mexico.
They seem fine, but are not quite as good as the Prismacolor set pencils. Each pencil in the box of 12 has a bar code sticker on them. I removed one, but it left the sticky residue, so I'll be leaving the other 11 on.Made in Mexico. Is that bad? Unclear, but I have noticed on other threads that buyers seek out the "Made in USA" Prismacolor pencils.
