Is it worth it? (Sewing Edition)
I adore the designs in this book. They are indeed for advanced patternmakers, as such I like that there is little handholding and pretty much just showing the garment and how the pattern should look. I would have liked to see actual photos of the garments made up and actual photos of the finished patterns. This book does not include info on creating slopers. The section on dart manipulation is a little weird, its too simply for beginners and not needed for advanced patternmakers. Overall an amazing book well worth the price, cannot rave enough about it.

Very Little Text Explanations
No sure I'm going to keep this one. The book has "Techniques" in the title so I purchased it looking for in-detail descriptions of techniques along with supplemental images. This work is the opposite.I'm not a beginner draper by any means, but the point of an instructional book is to give instructions. You can find images of couture gowns, and their technical drawings, all over the internet. The hard information to find is the techniques themselves. This book just describes the fundamentals of pattern making, then skips to images of illustrations and advanced tech packs with no explanation. A bizarrely designed book.

Excellent reference book with super-photos that are easy to follow. I will be purchasing the rest of this author's books for my library!
