Simple to solder, excellent product
I'm using these to plug into a power bank for various devices. I'm using the twin wire, probably 24 or 26 gauge, from old wall power supplies. These make a very solid connection. Soldering is a snap with the little cradles for the wires.

Work well, difficult to solder
I bought these to convert the power connectors for my GPS unit from SAE to USB. They fit the bill almost perfectly. Well actually they perform their intended purpose perfectly, it's just difficult to solder a wire on the little connectors. It is inherent of the style of connector, and not this specific brand..I was connecting a 16 gauge wire to them, where they normally have a 24 or a 28 gauge wire connected. Hence the difficulty in a tight space. I ended up melting several of them with my soldering gun, so fortunately I had ordered a 10 pack and had plenty to play with.In the end I've got good connections, and the kits sealed up nicely. Even with two 16 gauge wires going into them. I used a bunch of shrink tube to seal the components together, and to provide strain release on the cables. Make sure you have some available, or you may struggle getting proper strain relief and sealing the plastic shell. Some people complained about the pieces not fitting together properly, I had no issues at all. You have to remember that the original size cable that would go into these, is much smaller than what I was using. If you were using a regular four wire USB cable of the normal dimension I don't think there'd be any issues at all.

Not bad for hobyist use
These work fine. I've only built one of the connectors, but I will update this review if any of the others have problems.Connector:* Easy to solder and did not melt or deform, at least at 280 C.Shell:* The shell is hard plastic, not the softer sort you would find on normal USB connectors. I get why they did it this way, but the plastic feels pretty cheap.* They seem like they should snap together but it's just a friction fit, so I used superglue.* A strain relief is molded into the back of the housing, but it doesn't do anything because the plastic is too hard* The hole for the wire was too small (2.6-3mm) for what I needed (4.5mm), but it was easy to drill out with a hand drill

VERY GOOD QUALITY

Cheap and works fine.
Bought these to rig 5V LED power lines for some light panels I have. They worked out fine, no problems.

Poor quality control
Of the ten units, five of the metal pieces didn't fit the plastic enclosure. The holes punched in the metal are supposed to align with posts in the plastic, as shown in the bottom part of the image, but on half the units, the holes overlapped with the electronic component, causing it to not fit in the enclosure. The first two times I ordered this product, the package contained female USB connectors instead of male. If you order this product, make sure to allow yourself time to reorder in case you receive the wrong parts.

DIY Replacement for sheared USB specialty charger
I ordered these to replace the power charger cable for kids smartwatch that sheared off from a seatback USB outlet. Simple soldering on the outer terminals for red & naked wires and restored cable functionality. Glad I had extras since the first go was a practice. All's well so far after a few days.

Does the job well.
These connectors are easy to solder, however, it's best to put a piece of heat-shrink tubing over the end.
