Very smooth
I can't say enough good things about having a Cutterpillar. First tried one out at a crop and was instantly impressed. Fortunately, I had a birthday coming and hubby needed ideas! This trimmer provides a very smooth cut, even if I only trim a small amount. As long as I pay attention, it's perfect everytime. Until I received this, I'd used the same trimmer for over 20 years because I am left-handed and feared I would make mistakes if I tried something new. I admit that as I learned to use this, I double checked myself a lot as the measure twice, cut once adage dictates. There are only a couple things I would suggest altering. 1. The grid marks should be a different color. Green marks on a green surface are a strain, even with the lighted version. 2. Though this is an excellent quality tool, the price point feels a little out of reach for a lot of people, I think. I had the advantage of getting to try someone else's first, but I have lived in areas where that wasn't always an option. Thanks for the super fast shipping. Arrived 1 week early!

Best cutter ever!
I got this to replace a brand new blade/rail trimmer that needed new blades after completing just one project. I was hesitant to splurge because I don’t craft very often, but I’m so glad I did because it made my next project sooo much easier to complete. The blade glides effortlessly through any paper, whereas the old style would sometimes stick, especially if the groove got clogged. The light is especially helpful if you are trying to trim close to a design. And I really really love than I can literally “shave” the edge of the paper the teeniest amount if needed. I’ve read complaints about there not being anything to hold the paper down but I don’t get why; I’ve had zero trouble holding with one hand and cutting with the other. A couple of minor cons: (1) the numbers are difficult to see but it was a quick, easy fix with a wash of diluted white paint then wiping the excess with a damp paper towel (there is a YouTube tutorial) (2) not sure why they chose to put no markings where the arm folds between the 6-3/4 & 6-15/16 marks, so you have to eyeball it. Not a huge deal for me considering how well it works otherwise, but if you have the space you may want the full-size version instead.

... cutter for a few weeks now and really really like it. I purchased it since I got tired ...
I have been using this cutter for a few weeks now and really really like it. I purchased it since I got tired of buying replacement blades, so I needed a more permanent solution. I read the reviews and decided to go with the CROP for its size. I love how it cuts, the light is helpful.Negative:-The numbers and measurements are hard to see. This is a known issue with this cutter, I can't believe the manufacturers refuses to correct it.-I take it camping, and the battery compartment in the back is always loose, I will be placing a piece of tape to keep it in place. This battery cover feels cheap.-The arm doesn't fold close - this would be a great engineering improvement as it would allow for ease of transport to crops and conventions. This can be easily achieved the engineers would need to add a lock for when we want to cut in order to ensure a straight cut.-A little pricey, when the 12x12 is only about $15 more.-The arm which makes it into a 12x12 doesn't have a lock. It opens during transport, and it makes it awkward to figure out where to hold it to lift it/carry it.-Carrying it is a challenge since you can't lift/carry it by the cutting arm, the 12x12 section that opens is flimsy and unlocked, and if you hold it on the other side by the light...based on where your fingers hit you may open the battery compartment below - it has happened to me twice. See flimsy battery compartment comment above.+++++++POSITIVE++++++++AMAZING CUTS, Which is why I bought it in the first place!!! Always straight as long as you hold your paper down.+NO need for REFILL blades!!! Another reason I bought it!!+The light is helpful, although I don't always use it. I get migraines but it hasn't triggered any. Light is bright.+Smaller size, but still has the same capabilities as the 12x12. - I am mostly a cardmaker, so I don't need a 12x12 platform in my cutter at all times. A smaller platform means less space on my table as well.+The platform doesn't end in a weird measurement. I had a Fiskars cutter which folded in half, but the half mark was at 5.5inches (I know right!!!!), Not this one, great design in this respect.

Best trimmer
I’ve been through so many trimmers and they never last long. The blade mechanism falls off or the blade itself falls off and I can never get it to cut straight. I was about to give up until I found this one. It trims very well. It’s very straight and even has a light which is helpful for me because I’m very nearsighted. I’ve had it for over a year and it’s been great. It’s pricey, but definitely worth it.

Sharp :D
I am amazed with this trimmer! I've been through some trimmers in my day (3 just this year) and this one far exceeded my expectations. It cuts like butter. Effortlessly glides through my cardstock. It doesn't leave any fuzzy or jagged edges. I seriously can't tell between the cut that I've made with the Cutterpillar and the original edge of the cardstock. My last trimmer was a Stampin Trimmer and I was going through a blade every 3 weeks. I did the math and in 6 months time I've spent $88 on my last trimmer with repeated purchases of blades and shipping. That's more than what the Cutterpillar Crop costs. I love that I'll never have to spend money on blades & shipping ever again. The lighted edge is pure genius. This comes in really handy when I'm cutting patterned cardstock or photos. The most precise cuts! It just doesn't get better than the Cutterpillar. I chose the crop model because of its size and weight. I wanted something that didn't take up a lot of real estate in my craft room and something that wasn't too heavy. This fit the bill. I'm so pleased with my purchase I just have to buy my mother one as I can't to watch her struggle with her Stampin Trimmer any longer. I so highly recommend the Cutterpillar crop for everyone in need of a trimmer.
