Easy upgrade
These are awesome. Its surprising what led light can do to modernize an older vehicle.

A step above the rest in brightness !!
Insane brightness !!! I had to turn the auto-door-light setting off because with zero visibility tint you can see right through my FJ . Great hyperwhite color and seriously the brightest interior lights I’ve ever seen . I work on cars for a living .

Why did I wait?
In a word, wow. Every time my FJ hits another 1,000 miles she gets a gift. For 213,000 we updated our almost purposeless interior lights with LED's. Loving it. This kit comes with the tool you need to not crack your 17 year old plastic lens. The old bulb pops out, the LED is shaped just like the bulbs and pops right back in. Well, sort of. Someone said to lay down a towel so if it drops you can find it. Great advice, it does take just a little finagling to get in place. I have a set of craft needle nose pliers and the flat tipped ones held the bulb perfectly so I could just "pop" it in place. All in all, each of my two lights took about 2 or 3 minutes. Quickest upgrade since replacing my screw on antenna.

Somewhat brighter than original
I only installed the two ceiling lights so far. Shaped like bullets with pointy ends. Make sure the yellow square LED patches aim downward into the vehicle, you can gently rotate to adjust them a little bit once inserted. The clean bright white 6000 Kelvin of these bulbs makes the interior easier to see but I looked for the wattage and lumens but could find neither listed. While an improvement over the old incandescent bulbs, I would still prefer more or brighter light inside. (We do keep LED flashlights.)Probably the defect in vehicle design was to not have more interior lights. Note our FJ interior is black black black which is hard to see anything even with bright daylight. As to bulb insertion, be careful not to drop the new bulb as you try to figure out how to find its proper position, because you are working above your head. If it feels loose or looks crooked then it is not in position yet. My technique was to put a pointy end into the hidden side clamp with the tiny hole in it and then push straight upward until the visible metal clamp caught it. Takes multiple attempts so keep hold of the bulb until it firmly holds. Then move the lever to ON to check if it lights. Mine did right away so I did not run into a polarity issue. There are beige pieces of plastic along each end inside of the light fixture that are covers for something and they want to fall out. They are partly held in place by being underneath other plastic parts so be sure to examine how to get them back in, and the little tabs also need to be in position. Does not really click though. Annoying because they are not adjacent to where you are inserting the new bulb and take you by surprise. Then carefully replace the clear plastic light cover until the tabs catch. Also maybe place a light colored large piece of cloth beneath where you are working so when things fall down you can find them and they will not get broken.Hoping these are durable and longlasting. There was another company whose bulbs did include wattage equivalent that seems higher than the original wattage bulbs but the reviews were not as good. It may be that the whole design needs to be different with a much larger LED area that fits into the space. But at least these are inexpensive.

Best LED upgrade for 2008 FJ Cruiser
I've love the FJ since I've gotten it last year but I never knew how dim the stock halogen lights were until I changed my headlights to LED. I bought this since it came with so many LEDs for the interior and exterior and I've been happy with it. I would just double check the interior dome light since I put it upside down the first time and it wasn't as bright until I turned it the correct way. Also if you've never replace the side mirror lights just be careful since I almost broke my mirror trying to replace it.

Huge improvement, careful with the side mirrors!
When it arrived I thought I got the wrong set as most were the same but they were correct. I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to prying things open. I started with the two in the headliner. No problems except I put the first one in upside down and was disappointed with the brightness until I did the second and realized user error. Then license plate, then the circular (map) lights. This assembly was intimidating but no problem. Then the side mirrors, passenger side first, easy. Drivers side and a little cocky... snap, crackle pop went the mirror. Again user error. Thirty some odd dollars later and free next day delivery, better than new all around. Very happy, we'll see about longevity.

FJ Owners.. please do yourself a favor!!
I don’t write reviews…ever. Primarily due to my crazy schedule and not even having time to do things like mindlessly scroll through Facebook. But I was so “wowed” by this little set of LEDs after I install them to ditch the rest of the laundry for the evening. Here I am committed to telling anyone who takes the time to read this, first impressions are why did I not grab these sooner!?!?! Clear instructions, I had no idea about the polarity and that was stated as well as what goes where. Included is a plastic pry tool to pop the covers out. Big high fives and hand jives. Just all of it. And the FJ cabin is now hella lit!!! 💡
