Works great for stuck casings!
Awesome little kit! I had a .22 casing stuck in my old Remington 550-1, and with a little help from the aluminum rod (which is sturdier than it looks) it popped right out! Great kit to keep on hand for jams/cleaning since we all know how dirty .22 lr ammo is. For the price it can't be beat, just buy it!

Great kit!
I recently purchased this for my son's 22LR. You can't beat Hoppe's products! Everything you need is in a well laid out container. I really appreciate the aluminum cleaning rods. The kit I had purchased long ago for my .380 had plastic threads on the rods that broke after a dozen cleanings - that won't happen with this one! I highly recommend this kit!

Not bad for the price. Only one rod segment accepts cleaning tips.
I broke a couple of my decades-old cleaning rods. Bought these as a replacement. They are very small diamater, which isn't bad at all. They seem decent. I was disappoint (probably my own fault) that only the rod marked with 2 circular rings will accept the tips. The other 2 sections are threaded only as rod extensions. My old rods had the same threads on each section, so I could use any section as a short cleaning rod with the tips. Otherwise they work and are an inexpensive replacement.

Works well
I use this kit to clean and preserve my new Henry Golden Boy lever action rifle. Kinda hard to use without disassembling the action. But I just place rod into barrel, push all the way thru, attach a lubricated patch, then pull it back out. Works well.

Great value
This was my first purchase of a rifle cleaning kit for use on a rifle that will see low use and I didn't want to spend a lot. I knew Hoppes was a high-quality product and it was priced right. As long as you use it sensibly, the aluminum cleaning rods works well and the two bottles of cleaner/lubricant is a good deal. The cleaning pads were a little smaller and thinner than I expected, but I believe I got FAR more than the 50 that was mentioned - I bet there's at least 150 in there.Overall, a very good value for a basic gun cleaning kit with quality materials.I would definitely buy again.Hope this helps.

Perfect, basic cleaning kit
The kit ships exactly as shown, and is perfect for .223/5.56/5.7. In addition to brush, straight pick, and cloth attachment, it comes with a plentiful set of cloths underneath the Hoppes label shown in the center of the orange tray. Full bottles of bore cleaner and gun oil. The 3-piece rod is very sturdy, especially for an aluminum rod and I was puzzled with some of the reviews that stated it was flimsy. I have used it several times in the last couple of days, and am very pleased with it. The same kit cost $15 + tax at my gun club, and they can't keep them in stock. For a little over $8, this kit is a fantastic buy. You would pay that much for just the bore cleaner and oil in most places. 5-stars for quality, quantity and value. Strongly recommended.

Spend the extra money and Get a Kleen-Bore kit instead
For under $8, it does the job, but Hoppes cut so many corners to make this kit cheap, that you might as well spend the extra money to get a Kleen-Bore kit instead. I've used it to clean my Browning Buck Mark .22, but here are the things I don't like about this kit.CHEAP PACKAGING2. The clamshell packaging is cheap, and easy to lose parts when the plastic eventually wears out.CHEAP PLASTIC MATERIALS3. The slotted end and regular jag are plastic, which makes them really cheap and bendable. My slotted end is already bent after 2 cleanings. Kleen-Bore materials are made out of steel or aluminum, thus preventing bent items.4. the Cleaning rods (which are usually metal) are some kind of plastic, which means that if you are trying to force the rod into the bore, you run the risk of shearing plastic shreds off the rod or bending the rod altogether.MISSING NECESSITIES5. This kit doesn't include a brush. Now, it has the brass bore brush, but it doesn't have "toothbrush" style brushes which are so necessary if you are scrubbing down something other than the bore itself. Hoppes, I hope you guys realize that guns get dirty, and not only in their barrels!edit: But here are a few things I DO like about this kit:1. Contains the essentials: oil, patches, bore brush, cleaning rod.2. Jags/Slotted ends are interchangeable between kits. I have the .22 rifle kit and .45 kit. The .22 rifle kit is very difficult to clean pistols with, so I put a .22 slotted end on the .45 cleaning rod. I'll buy the full brass jag set when a little more money comes my way. Conclusion: Hoppes, thanks for the clean firearm. But I hope you guys will catch onto modular, high-quality manufacturing like Kleen-Bore!
