Small powerful stove. Recommended
Got this on an Amazon deal, so a bargain. There are a number of distributors of this identical stove on Amazon and outside a deal, the prices vary widely, so check these before you buy.I use a gas stove mainly for a picnic meal at the end of a forest or coast walk.I wanted to get a really compact cooking setup with a small but stable burner.I'm really impressed with this little stove. It's very stable. The legs lock firmly into place and provide a wide enough base for a frying pan, kettle or pot.The piezo igniter is a little stiff bit ignites immediately and the small windshield is really effective on a windy day. This stove produces an intense flame and heat if turned up high. I would not use it at these temperatures. You don't need to. Low to medium heat is all that's required to get cooking very quickly. My camp kettle boils enough for two good size mugs in 2-3 minutes at a low/medium heat.It also cools down quickly after use and stows away neatly into the carry box. The box itself is basic but does the job. A bonus is the stove comes with an adaptor to use with upright bottles propane bottles as well as the C type canisters.A neat addition to a compact cooking kit. Definitely recommended.

Really good gas burner but........
I had bought a camping gaz stove (the type that fits onto the top of the canister) and intended to buy another (to boil water and percolate coffee simultaneously) but the camping gaz product had shot up in price so I looked around and bought this. It fits screw top canisters and with an provided adapter, gaz canisters. It is stable, low to the ground, it has an ignition (which the camping gaz product did not have) and it produces a really powerful burn. It boils the kettle in no time at all and comes in a nifty wee plastic box. It is not as robust as the camping gas burner but it is so good, I have bought another one. Now an update. It is still a really good burner but on my last trip I tried the adaptor for the camping gas stove, it did not work, but no matter I had plenty screw top canisters. But I also used a wind shield which I was told helped increase the heat and it certainly did. I was making toast and I burnt the grass underneath and the burners ignition system melted and fell apart. It still works but I need an external source of ignition now. I’d still buy this but whilst the flame is fierce the construction is lightweight. Easy to carry, great for camping but if you are heading up the Himalayas make sure you also take some matches.

Robust very powerful stove - *Does not cope well with butane aerosol canisters with the adaptor
Could it be that despite the supplied separate adaptor for aerosol type canisters, these are not a great fit or indeed ,fit for purpose?First the Bad News : Do not let this put you off!Flared uncontrollably ( see picture) with the Butane adaptor locked securely in place and the aerosol canister upright and then tried horizontal on the ground. We now actually think that the aerosol butane canisters are not very good with this burner - indeed they are potentialoly DANGEROUS / dire. We tried it with a Butane only aerosol canister and it flared uncontrollably. Just wish the seller was a little more responsive about what canisters will or will not work. The Good News: So then we purchased a butane/ propane mix canister dumbell type (Summit Green 260g) canister see picture. No need to use the adaptor. Our recommendation - Only Use with dumbell cartridges with a screwthread 100/ 260/ 500gThis transformed the stove: This stove was now like a stallion on steroids.Beautiful controllable blue flame that boiled 500ml in 2 minutes 20s -.1.0 litre in 3 minutes 50 s. So powerful that for foods you might get instant ' Pan stick' however on a mere simmer the beast is easily controlled , and from a safe distance too with the controller on the canister. The lead is far too short for aerosol type canisters. Ours was 10 cm less than advertised at 30cm, not the stated 40cm. 50 m would be better. Come on Q.C. These appear to be a Marmite lottery. We are however as others have done, going to try again. So many good reviews too and just gutted - have we a dud? The adaptor for aerosol type canisters also does seem to leak and requires deft fitting as others have mentioned - it should be a 100% seal.Stove Construction : ExcellentThis stove feels robust and somewhat 'reassuringly clunky'. The component legs x3 feel heavy and snap out wide and 'Lock' into place for stove use. The attached feet also flip out raising the stove from the ground. (Personally do not like the burners that sit on a gas canister) - this however has a reasonably wide foot spread for secure footing. It comes with a storage box and an adaptor for aerosol-type butane canisters. The entire unit in the orange plastic box weighs in at 355 g a little less than stated, and here is the reason - the fuel feed pipe on ours was 30cm NOT 40cm, and frankly the longer any fuel container is from a source of flame - the better. The inbuilt windshield is useful and will glow red, however cooking in an open space a windbreak of some kind is as most necessary as the unit may flare-up. Beware as the underneath area may also get ....warm and ventilation is required.About the use with the adaptor:We have read reports of 'Balls of flame' when starting......well read on as at first ours appeared to be briefly fine and then went 'interesting'.We used with an *upright 'aerosol type butane Sunn Gas container shaped like an aerosol (227g) and do NOT recommend these canisters. Here are some tips :1. Make sure the legs are fully extended and locked with the pot stand flipped to secure on a level surface.2. If using the adaptor check the screws inside are tight - we tightened ours initially with a micro Philips screwdriver and screwed tight onto the in-situ fitting on the fuel lead.3. IMPORTANT: The adaptor has to be 'Locked' in place, (this may take a few attempts to get used to the operation ), on the upright canister twist the knurled bronze knob to fully secure). If this is not secure you risk all sorts of interesting developments on firing up.The piezoelectric starter does work well. There is a metal baffle heatshield that protects the orange plastic button from undue heat. If a windshield is employed the area at the base will get hot as one reviewer stated , lack of air supply melted their ignition button!-IMPORTANT: Turn the fuel supply knob about 2mm on before lighting. In other words a smidgin! If you turn anywhere more than this smidgin- you risk losing your eyebrows or singing your hand.Once fired up adjust flame - for water boiling you can put up the throttle but for food, you risk incinerating the pan, or bottom inner contents - so deft control is of importance and is easy to do as the controller is on the canister. This thing is good and the heat output on full power for water is awesome. This unit is heavier than some (355g) over others that work directly from a canister, ( ranging from 150g and Jetboil types weigh in at 550g or more with a pot ) the feet on this Awroutdoor do make it more secure. There is a video youtube review; Type in TheOutdoorgearReview, of similar Ayada stove Dec 8th, 2019, although the much-respected reviewer strangely forgot to pull legs all the way out(!), and legs on this Awrootdoor have been much improved to lock out further, providing better stability. Conclusion: Brilliant stove for dumbell type canisters - Potentially Extremely DANGEROUS using with the adaptor and aerosol type butane canisters. Will be interested to read others' opinions on this.

Brilliant
I have now used this lovely little unit for just over a month. It is the smallest cooker I have ever used and also the cheapest. It has a very nice adjustable gas flow dial to control the heat output, but unless you intend to melt lead "flat out" will never be required.I use this in my van and it boils a litre of water quite quickly. Faster than my 2 previous camping cookers and of course it folds away to almost nothing.I have stuck small pieces of velcro to the feet which allows the unit to "grab" onto my folding table as often my van is parked on less than perfect horizontal surfaces. There is no heat migration whatsoever to the feet when in use. I used gorilla glue for this. When the arms are unfolded they offer a nice stable cooking platform plenty big enough for my ridge monkey xl, not at all wobbly or insecure.I have relegated all other portable cooking appliances to the back of my shed. Wish I had this years ago.See photos for details.
