Not a stellar pick
We have a closet space that had an old commercial laundry center from 1996. When we finally needed to replace we wanted another machine to last 25 years (an appliance repairperson suggested SQ). Our installers could not level the machine during install and found it was due to our flooring. This machine's extreme weight and spin cycle speed put much more stress on our hardwood than any others. After paying someone to come reinforce the floor in the closet area we still can't get the machine to operate without load balancing issues during the wash cycle. Running on low spin is our only option and that excludes a number of the wash presets. Even with low spin certain items (towels, bedding) require supervision and we literally hold the machine when the spins start (these happen after wash, rinse, and during the spin cycle) so that the machine doesn't damage anything with its shaking and swaying. We wipe down the gasket/glass door on the washer and leave the door open for a few hours so that the moisture can air dry after every load.Pros: cycle time display, moisture sensing dry cycles, "favorites" programming option, clothes smell amazing (didn't change anything about our detergent or the amount we used, but the clothes feel and smell cleaner)Cons: impossible to level in an old construction home, so much heavier than the alternatives that our flooring required additional repair, so heavy that we can't move the machine ourselves to do basic repairs, dryer door buzzes (usually stops if I stand there and press on it a few times), washer makes a clinking sound like a zipper is hitting the glass door but occurs with loads of only towels, washer still smells like burnt rubber after ~15 loads of laundry (probably the gasket?)I mean, this thing does finish a load of laundry. I guess that's how low the bar is. I'm thankful for the fact that we've had no leaking or error code issues. It was a very expensive appliance replacement for us and has proven to be more hassle than anything else. We'd probably do this differently if we could. I miss the days of putting a load in and walking away.
