Large Stipple Quilting Stencil
This is the perfect stencil for those just learning to quilt. It's very basic and easy to follow. I would highly recommend "Quilting Creations Marking White Magic 12oz Spray" for darker quilts (found on Amazon) or "June Tailor Quilter's Stencil Marking Spray Blue" for lighter quilts (also found on Amazon). Just simply set the stencil on the quilt and spray, repeating the pattern until the whole quilt is stenciled. Let the spray dry and start quilting (start your quilting in the center). When you're done quilting and finish your quilt, just put your quilt on the rinse cycle of your washer in cold water and it comes right off. GREAT STENCIL.

Nice stipple
Haven't used this yet. I've been practicing free motion quilting and am not very good. I know, I know, practice makes perfect. I figured these would be a good way to get the feel of large stipples. I like the size and the feel of the plastic. Nice and sturdy.

My thoughts on the stipple stencil
I had tried to do the stippling using the free flow method and did not succeed. I had seen this stencil on one of the quilt sites and decided even though it would not cover a large project, I would like to try using it. I actually put a piece of muslin on the backside of my project and traced the stencil and sewed from the wrong side. It works and I am glad I now can finish my project. It is large but it worked great.

Good pattern but arrived bent
I am a new quilter and wanted to try my hand at free motion quilting. I figured a guide like this would help me gain muscle memory for the flow of the design. And, for the most part, that worked. I'd use a heat-erasable pen to draw the design on my actual quilt, then quilt on the line. After awhile, I could fill in some spaces (like corners) without the drawing. My only complaint is that the product arrived bent and even after trying to flatten it for months.... it still has a bend in it.

This product ruined by Amazon packet
My item had been folded which keeps it from lying flat for use. I would order a replacement but I have no way of voicemail no my concern other than here. The material is a plastic that should NOT e folded.

I think your better off on a quilt just letting go and going ...
This stencil will help get you started on the pattern but I did find it hard to follow once the fabric was in the machine. It may help you in the beginning but the stippling is very close together for a large quilt but I think it would work well for a purse sized quilting project. I think your better off on a quilt just letting go and going with the flow of the moment. Practice is what will make your stippling look good but try it, however if it gets too hard to follow the lines, then just free hand it.

Could be karger
Exactly what I was looking for. A larger surface area would be more useful if quilting a large quilt to avoid frequent re-positioning.

Inferior product for quilt tops.
The plastic on this product isn't strong enough to withstand the passes of the chalk holder. The cut outs bend up and do not go back to the shape they were meant to be. Go for the stronger bit more expensive stuff for a quilt. This might work fine on another project but not on a quilt top.
