I hesitated too buy these for the longest time because the cost concerned me. I grew up with wild gooseberries at my fingertips, so the price scared me away. I finally decided to buy them split with my family. I am so glad I did! I wasn’t sure how much 4.5 lbs of berries amounted to pie-wise, and it isn’t specified how these are packaged. I can tell you they came in 1.5 lb resealable packages, obviously freezer safe, so there were 3 bags total. Each bag could make one large pie, easily. Once they were shipped, they came quickly, and packaged really well with dry ice. They were still frozen when they arrived! The gooseberries are big, bright green, perfectly tart, individually frozen (each berry), and 100% clean and ready to eat! I tasted a few and they are exactly what I expected. I can’t wait to replicate my grandmas gooseberry pie. The price seems higher on Amazon than what you might pay through the sellers website, but I think the shipping cost is rolled in to the price on Amazon. So overall I think the price is fair. I’m so glad to have found these, and I’ll definitely restock!

Large, high quality berries. Reminds me of the ones I picked on my grandparents farm in northwest Missouri. Excellent flavor in my pies and jams.

They arrived fresh and frozen which is great, but they are not nice to eat without adding lots of sugar. These gooseberries are not the tasty treat I remember picking as a child.

Mom remembers gooseberries from when she was little. It has been a treat for her and I to make some gooseberry pies. I order the ready made Amish gooseberry pie filling from Amazon and also put some of these in to thicken it up a bit and get more of that gooseberry experience. The pies have been turning out really good. Tried making my own pie dough, not good. Just get the ready made ones from the supermarket.

Absolutely delicious if you are a gooseberry lover.! Uniform in size, well packaged -dry ice to keep them frozen.

This was by far the most awful purchasing experience. Please don’t buy this. These gooseberries are awful. They don’t taste anything like the fresh produce you buy at the local store or farm. I would give it -1 star if I could.
