I love RE in general and Capcom in general. This is they're very first first person shooter horror game besides zombies. And I gotta say I've been jumping outta my seat and full of anxiety, good stuff.

Coming off three straight action-oriented RE's (4-6), RE7 revisits the core of the original, albeit first-person, modern graphics, and realistic. I loved the action, hammy dialogue and nonsensical plots of 4-6, so 7 disappointed me because 7 had none of that. Instead, standard RE characters are gone, replaced by a faceless man named Ethan, who's trying to find his missing gf in some part of the southern states. He ends up in an abandoned house and from there enters the mouth of madness.Pros:- beautiful environments and lighting- tense and dreary, often gross and repulsive- decent length, probably 10-12 hours- new vision of RE, first person, new characters and storyCons- survival over action - Ethan is rarely fully armed and equipped; running and conserving ammo are necessary to survive- no zombies- limited carrying capacity means having to drop off items to reacquire other ones- underwhelming enemies; challenging to kill but lacking the classic RE virus gross-out transformations; the family Ethan encounters are just some unfortunate localsIn sum, Capcom went from fully automatic, over the top action and melodrama to single-shot, think-before-you-shoot and true to life acting. This is why 7 is not a favorite. After the thrill of 4-6, I felt severely outgunned and impotent when I really wanted to square off and launch grenades at everything.
