AniMed Anihist-H to Support Normal Histamine Levels in Horses, 20-Ounce

My horse gets an occasional cough probably from some type of seasonal allergen(s). So far this product has worked for him. When I notice him coughing, I add this to his feed and it's better in a couple of days. I continue using it for a couple of weeks and then stop to see if he's better. If not, I just start back. He eats it in his feed with no problem. I feed a small portion of grain along with ground flax and a vitamin/mineral mixture. I do wet his feed a bit so the powder gets dissolved in with everything. That may help the palatability. I can't say it would work for every type of cough, but it seems to help my guy with allergies.

Works well and will buy again kicked the viruses butt boost the immune system and made a healthy horse however it does make him a bit energetic so just be aware of that. all the horses that had this got jittery after being on it for 2 weeks then I cut it back and then they were fine

We have a pregnant mare with allergies that cause her to wheeze. Because she is pregnant, we could not give her any medication. I contacted the company and their vet told me I could give this to her for 30 days as long as it was more than a month before she foals. After a couple of weeks on it, her breathing is so much better! Even after the 30 days when we stopped giving it to her, her breathing is still so much better than it was. We put it on her food and she ate it down so she seems to like the taste (you can smell the ginger).

My horse is prone to getting hives. Sometimes they can get very severe, and all tho it’s not a quick fix, this supplement really helps to ease his discomfort until the hives dissipate.

I have had great success with this product helping reduce overall histamines in my metabolic mare. Her eyes are also not reacting this spring/summer as they usually do, her breathing is very free, energy is up, weight/condition has improved and coat is incredibly shiny. This alongside EquaHolistics Healthy Gut and APF Pro 6mg a day has made a huge difference in my morgan mare's overall health and well-being. She doesn't seem to mind the taste. It may have taken a bit just to get used to something new but with the water added to her supps and mixed up well it seems to blend in fine. As a maintenance dose she gets it mixed in only 8 ounces of Organic Horse Supplement Pellets from Modesto Milling twice daily. Metabolic horses tend to have high histamine levels and I love her response so far and plan to continue using it daily.

My horse and I have seasonal allergies. When she has a runny nose I know mine will be soon as well! This is recommended to be given 10 oz, 2 times a day to start. I believe for 10 days then reduce. Although I received my 20 oz can the next day. It is nice to be knowledgeable of the dosage and the contents of the jar to ensure that you are ordering enough the first time. Note: My girl knows that I place something different in with her grain but without fault she does consume the dosage.

This is the first time using this particular product, however I have used other Animed products in the past for My horse. She is very sensitive to the biting flies & mosquito's this time of year. This ANIHIST H is somewhat strong smelling and I had to add it slowly to her small ration of grain in able to get Her to take it, took about 10 days to work up to the full recommended dose !!!

I had 2 vets look at my Percherons eye that looked like it was mooneye (it wasn't) and neither could figure out what was causing the blue haze, itching, mild swelling and runny eye. Ducts were clear. It happened last spring, fall, clear over winter and again this spring... I thought people have seasonal allergies, maybe this is it also. yep. Cleared it right up after the initial build-up dose, I give it to him when my eyes start to itch. No more blue, no more runny eye and combined with a dose of MSM, no more swelling. He's a happy boy! (mix with feed and a bit of oil. the taste is strong!)
