Great quality, has held up for 5 years
I bought this tool in 2020 and it continues to be a favorite in my garden. I added a colorful ribbon to the handle to avoid losing it in the garden since the brown wood blends in to wherever I accidentally set it down. The handle is comfortable to use and has held up well these five years. I expect to use it for many more years. It's great for planting bulbs or plugs, digging up plants by their roots for transplanting or removal, and many other uses. It's the first tool I go for when I get into my garden.

Comfortable grip, handy tool
I’ve wanted a hori hori for use in the garden but have not been able to find one with a comfortable grip for my smaller hands. This tool is perfect. I’ve been using it for a variety of garden chores and it feels balanced and comfortable in my hand. I like the sharp tip and long blade for digging up plants and bulbs and the saw on the side is handy for small cutting needs (it would take quite awhile to saw through a 1/2”). Its sturdy and I don’t worry about breaking or bending it. It’s fast becoming the first tool I reach for.

I like it
I really like this, I was hesitant to spend $60 on a garden trowel but after seeing a church members while visiting I decided to give it a go. This this from what I can tell is built very well it came super sharp but will dull when you dig with it , and I believe that is to be expected when shoving it in the dirt. I may also try buying the other one as well. I got just the blade no sheath due to cost and honestly I don’t think I would even use the sheath if I had it. All in all I think this is a good tool.

Love this knife!!
Well made and sharp, love the handle, and it feels comfortable in my hand. Love the depth markers for planting seedlings. They make it so easy. I dont like the hard case that was purchased for this, but the knife is wonderful. I will have it happily for a very long time!!

Really nice Hori Hori knife for gardening
Although I had to return the Hori Hori I received because it was the classic Barebones model versus their high end model. My daughter-in-law had the high end model (very similar, but more substantial and has the hammer end shown) and I fell in love with it. The classic model is still quite nice and I probably would have been fine with it had I not seen the other one (which I would rate a 5). But you can't go wrong with this model either. Barebones makes nice products!

Better than expected
For years I have wanted a Hori Hori, and finally purchased! This is a stout, sharp, comfortable garden knife I was extremely pleased with. Works like a charm.

Looks are deceiving
The handle and design are nice the blade is sharp. However the metal is cheap and porous. It's not full tang and it snaps with the slightest pressure. 2 knives have broken within 1 hour of use. I use Hori Hori knives every day. This one should be used for photo ops only. It's useless for what it's designed for. It's frustrating when you have a tool you depend on and it breaks with ease. This knife does not warrant the price.
