I've seen the original Bernini at the Villa Borghese in Rome and wanted to take it home with me, This casting was a chance to have an affordable version. The fine details of robes, facial expression, hair, and especially muscle tone, while not like the original marble, are still there to convey beauty, a sense of movement, and drama. The mold for this cast replica must be incredibly detailed, as well as the casting process being able to fill in such small spaces, and then removing the piece from the mold without a fracture. The material even has the look of marble, but not highly polished. There may be more expensive replicas out there, but for the not so wealthy this is a bargain.

I have been to Villa Borghese and I adore the original statue (the detail is unbelievable). This miniature does not have all the fine details, but it's the second best thing to the real one. Does try to highlight the best details the larger than life one has. I am very satisfied with this piece!
