Q: Would this work as a pond liner? Does it smell?

I do not know of anyone using for that. It is a favorite of Homesteaders that desire chemical free products. There is no smell. I hope that info helps.

Q: Is this firm? i.e. could a dog stand on it if it were upside down?

I prefer the blue he’d plastic over the rubber! Much easier to clean. Yes a dog could tend on it.

Q: Can the rubber feeder pans go in the dishwasher?

I wouldn’t do it. I feel like the material would eventually break down. A scrub bush and a little dish soap works great.
