Works great to run a cable longer than you would be able to otherwise.
Does exactly what I wanted it to.I have a 550ft run of cable that was accidentally ran with CCA (copper clad aluminum) CAT5e. This was no problem for solid core copper CAT5e, but with the CCA there was no signal detected at all and the entire run was useless. So I put this product halfway between the two ends and instantly had a working link. For long runs of cable I would recommend trying solid core copper network cable, but if that's not enough or the speeds aren't good enough, this product might help you in a pinch.

Exceptional Product! Does everything it should, and more!
We’ve wanted to have a security camera at the street in front of our house (we have several others in various locations). However, we’re on a large rural property and the street is about 450 feet from the house. We tried Solar/WiFi cameras, and even with outdoor access points the WiFi connectivity was spotty. One day I noticed the telco box on the pole we wanted to mount on and popping it open discovered 4 pair of unused CAT3 wires — 4 pair are what an Ethernet cable is made of (though they are typically CAT5 or 6). This cable went through a conduit right to my house. I set about making a network connection to my PoE+ switch. At first it worked, I was amazed, an over 500’ Ethernet run — the maximum spec is about 330’. However, it proved to be unreliable, and PoE was also not dependable. This is not really surprising, my cable tester measured the length of the entire run at just shy of 600’ — almost double the spec. Then I started researching PoE extenders, and saw that some could be chained for longer runs (the Cudy’s can chain up to 3 extenders for a maximum length of 1320’). I decided to first try one POE10 as it would be inside the demarcation box at my house. I replaced my splice with two male RJ45 plugs and inserted the POE10, BOOM! It worked right away, my PoE cable tester showed full voltage at the end of the 600’ line — in reality, the Cudy POE10 is driving a 100 Mbps Ethernet over 550’ of CAT3 wire — AMAZING! The best part of all is that no power is required, the extender is powered by the PoE+ it is extending! Our PoE+ Pan / Tilt / Zoom camera that draws about 15 — 20 Watts of PoE+ works perfectly and delivers a great picture. My managed switch tells me I have a 1 Gbps connection, but I can’t confirm that as it sees the Cudy injector, and the camera itself only requires 100 Mbps. Someday I’ll test a more network demanding device, but for now the Cudy POE10 Injector is working perfectly and solved a big network problem for us. We might even add one of the 2 port weatherproof Cudy’s to the end of the line and try to add a second camera. Kudo’s to this device, can’t recommend it enough! Five Stars all the way!Disclaimer: What I have done is totally non-standard and I’m not saying that everyone should try things like this, but if it works in a very difficult environment like this, it should have no trouble in more typical use cases.

Worked great, ended up intermittently rebooting
Got one of these for an install outdoors, but inside a sealed box. It worked great for over a year, but lately has been rebooting. The can had moisture in it, so I assume it failed because of the high humidity. I replaced it this week with a outdoor sealed version from a different vendor. The box was outdoors in the sun, so it did have probably 30-110 degree or more swings throughout the year. I would buy again but for indoors only with some sort of climate control. Id probably put it in a warehouse if it wasnt a super hot one.

Good for price
Great value for the price. Works well.

Only for specific cabling with power
We're hoping it would work to extend just a basic network line. It does not. It is for PoE (power over Ethernet) only.

Use the extend my cat 5/300 feet
Works great thumbs up and helped me out a lot. Made the cameras that I had work in a 400 foot tree.

Works amazing to extend internet!
We ran a normal cat5 or cat6 cable up to my shop which is 400 feet from my house. The internet router in my home was on the far side of the house which added about another 75 feet. I went to Walmart and got a normal linkysys router and hooked it up at the shop. The internet was extremely unstable. Barely worked at all in the shop and it also slowed my home down drastically to the point I unhooked the shop after about a week of trying it like this. Bought this cudy PoE+extender and put it on the line and hooked it back up and boom! Perfect internet at shop and home. I’m running approximately 500 feet now and I couldn’t be happier !
