Honestly, I have not written a review in quite a while. This hourglass is so incredibly impressive that I can't help myself. The craftsmanship of this product is truly well beyond what I would have expected. The weight of the metal used is significant and somehow this comes across visually as well. I really just have not been able to take my eyes off of this thing for the past couple of days ever since it arrived. It seems to have some meaningful and timeless quality that is exactly what I was looking for. I'm tempted to buy a couple more of these as gifts, which I imagine I will and up doing sometime in the near future. Lastly, I should mention that there is some sort of elegant, yet understated and classic shine to this product that simply cannot come across in the photos. We all know the pleasure of a product that genuinely exceeds our expectations. This hourglass is a true standout in that regard. Just FYI, mine is accurate with 45 seconds of 30 minutes, so there is that to consider if truly wanting a precise 30 minute hourglass. So it's 30 minutes and 45 seconds one way and 29 minutes and 15 seconds the other way, which I presume is due to a different degree of resistance created by the glass when it goes one way or the other way. So, the times are very consistent, yet different depending on which way the hourglasses turned. The plus or minus 45 seconds is acceptable for my purposes, so I am more than satisfied.

Beautiful piece. The actual hourglass was a lot smaller than I expected. I had the 30 & 5 Minute Gravity Hourglasses - Time Management Set - Deep Black & Snow White before and this hourglass is about the size of the 5 minute hourglass in the Work Play set. I have already broken one of the 30 minute hourglass units from the Work Play set. That was my primary motivator for purchasing this. I timed it at 28:41 so a little shy of thirty but within the 10% that most hourglasses advertise.

I make my daughter to time her daily piano practicing with it. It makes of high quality materials and purely beautiful!

the hourglass is displayed on living room shelves ... along with the old balance scale, etc. and vintage games. but the hourglass is the star and gets lots of complements. Love it ... and may buy another as a gift for my daughter-in-law.

Beautiful piece but incredibly inaccurate. Some variance is expected with an hourglass. However I timed the one I received five times and it consistently clocks in at 25 minutes, 3 seconds, not a half an hour. For my purposes, I need a more accurate piece (I give half-hour consultations). I will be returning it, despite how nice it looks.

Strange little thing but I love it. High quality. Mine is slightly more than 30 minutes, but it doesn't bother me. Goes great with the semi-industrial steampunk quality of other things in my office.

Exactly as advertised. Beautiful, elegant, simple. I put a little oil on the slides to smooth out the motion; other than that, it was simple assembly, and made a perfect 1st anniversary gift for my good friends.
