Our use for this was as a constituent in home-made dog food (together with veggies and meat). We make it up with water, milk and eggs. This definitely arrives in doomsday-prepping quantity and will last you well in to the post-apocalyptic age. I have tried it and it tastes quite good; our dogs love it and, providing you have dry storage, it is a great way of home-cooking the dog chow - or ensuring that you have supplies to survive the end of the world.

It's not the same as fresh made, but close enough.
