Packed Full, Brought Back Memories
I spent hours on the NES and SNES as a kid playing Super Mario, many years later both consoles are still working and many happy hours are spent showing my skills off to my son. Bought this book before we went to watch the Super Mario film, my son is now a convert. Packed full of every Mario game out there, some I didn’t know existed, there’s actually a good amount of reading so it’s also helping to improve the reading ability of a 9 year old. Didn’t expect the book to be as good as it is. Very happy 👌.

Not suitable for younger children.
Edited to add there are also the words "crap" and "bugger" in it which some may find unsuitable also.I bought this for my 8 year old daughter as she adores the world of Super Mario, namely Rosalina and Princess Peach. I thought, after reading the reviews that this would be suitable for her to learn more about the history of the game and the characters. My daughter started to read the book and was really enjoying it and liked how it depicts time lines of when each mario game came out and shows the evolution of the characters. However when I sat down to read it to her at bedtime, she asked me to read the part which I have included a photo of, because it included a bit about Rosalina. Upon reading it I felt it was quite unsuitable for her and was annoyed at myself for buying it for her. There's a lot of content that is fine, all the fact based bits are great, but I don't understand why they have to talk about swinging and magic mushrooms, which inevitably I would be asked about. So if like myself you are looking for an innocent and wholesome book about what is essentially a child's game, don't buy this book. My daughter also told me there was a swear word in it that she read when I asked if there was anything else unsuitable. I'll be looking into this further.I feel pretty silly for not checking this before I gave it to my daughter and won't be making the same mistake in future. On a separate note, my little girl also noticed that the authors had muddled up some of the names and had labelled pictures of some characters incorrectly.
