Continental Gator Skin Tires
So far, the tires have been performing beautifully. I can feel the grip along with a little more shock absorbant performance than other generic tires I've had before. Feels good and rides well on the road. I can update this message later in the future as I wear them out more, but overall, the quality is excellent and I have more confidence riding faster & more aggressively despite the condition of the road. I live in a four seasons state, so in the summer all the pot holes and other damages from the winter are pretty evident when biking, but so far these tires have handled them very well.

Tough but not heavy
These are tough tires without being overly heavy. You won't get many flats with them.

Great mid-level clincher
Easy to install. Durable. I've heard rolling resistance was magic with these, but I find that pressure matters more. I think 23c would be better. Either way, the sizing is perfect. I can pop these on and off my rims without tools. They snug up really well. Top pressure is 120psi, and it's about 10 pumps from a full-sized floor pump to get there (smaller size). These fit a great slot. The price is mid-level, and the quality is upper mid level.

I Hate Flats, Therefore I Love These Tires
Being tired of flat tires, I decided to go with a tire that can handle my riding. Now I use Gator Skin tires on three separate road bikes. These tires can take anything. And I mean ANYTHING. They are amazing. They are probably not the best racing tire - but they serve the purpose of never going flat. If you need a rugged road tire, I recommend these.

Best most durable tires
I put them on all my bikes and they’re extremely protective and durable but a bitch to install on my deeper carbon wheels.

Tire punctured but no flat tire
Was reading through the woods and had a stick pierce the tire. I rode on the tire for about 30 seconds before realizing the thumping sound of the stick hitting the pavement on each tire rotation. I was sure I had a flat tire... I removed the stick with some force, checked the tire, I saw a small puncture hole but innertube still intact. Took bike to shop to have them review the tire, they saw the tire is still good to drive on. Highly recommend after that experience.

When I was new to biking, I bought these because they have a great name, and to be fair they did exactly as expected. However, if you ride a road bike and like to go anything faster than a stroll, these are almost twice the weight and twice the rolling resistance of other tires. Sure, they won't puncture, but you will be feeling like you are dragging concrete blocks around compared to other tires. Plus they aren't all season safe, they are very slippery in the wet, so they really aren't good for anything. For the price of 1 of these, you can go buy 2 bontrager R4 tires which have a puncture strip in them too, but also are way lighter and way less rolling resistance. Or, if you don't care about money, just buy the gp5000 for literally a couple dollars more.I wish I had this message well before I bought these and now am looking forward to finally cooking through them and getting rid of them after this winter and will never buy them again.
