Easier job than I expected; surprisingly good results
Overall this is a good product. It wasn't as hard a job as I thought it would be. Sanding just requires patience, not a lot of pressure with an electric drill. The results look surprisingly good.I was working on a 2003 Toyota Matrix. You can imagine how yellowed and hazy those headlight lenses were on this old car with over 200,000 miles on it. The sanding removes the haze but not all the scratches that accumulate over the years. But the haze is the problem because that diffuses the light away from the road.I give the product a 4 instead of 5 because it includes only 1 3000 grit refining disc. It would be better with 2, one for each headlight. After use on one headlight the 3000 grit sanding surface was worn away all around the edge. After use on the second light, that light was hazier than the first. The haziness cleared up with the clear coat application, but I would have felt better if there was a fresh 3000 grit available. But the lenses don't diffuse the light anymore as can be seen in the picture of the headlights shining on my garage door. Yes! More light to the front of the car and on the road.Follow the directions. They are very precise. Wear a dust mask! There is lots of plastic dust created when sanding which is to be expected. As instructed wipe the dust off the lens frequently during sanding, or you'll get burned yellow plastic spots as the dust accumulates. Then you have to sand those out too. Also, the provided masking tape to put around the lenses is 1" wide. Definitely put 2" width of tape around each light. Don't believe you are going to control your drill well enough not to accidentally go over the edge of the lens. It can grab while sanding, especially on odd curves or if you apply too much pressure. Just to cover detail, I used a 20v Bauer cordless electric drill on the higher speed setting, and torque set at 13 though that probably could have been lower. I consider that Bauer to be a light-duty drill; it is certainly light weight.

This is a good product that works
This product worked well. I used it on on a 2011 Ford Flex with 120,000 miles. The headlights were very large and very clouded. Afterwards the lenses were crystal clear and looked brand new. The only thing that could slightly improve the product would be a second 3000 grit pad, but, in the end the 1 pad was enough for the job. One tip I would recommend is to use water with all 3 grit papers. The water allows for just enough "lubrication" so that you have less chance of the paper suddenly grabbing the lens surface which could make a deep mark. The water also allows for heat dissipation so that there is less chance of harming the lens surface when using moderate pressure. Use a lot of water with the 3000 and you can apply more significant pressure which will really make a positive difference. You can also use a higher speed on the drill when using the 3000 pad. After the 3000 you could elect to use a mild scratch remover product with a buffing pad for one last pass before cleaning up and adding the clear coat - but this is not necessary.

WOW!!!
WOW!! This kit took our dingy, nasty 2008 headlights and made them brand new again. It was super easy to follow the instructions and took about 45 minutes. Follow the steps exactly and you will see the amazing results! Seriously, not sure why I waited so long to do this!!

Excellent results, follow directions!
Have faith in 3M. Scouring the plastic lens with dry sand paper makes you think “gee I real ruined this” but working carefully the results are amazing, super clear lenses, no more haze or yellow discoloration. Worth the effort! Will buy again for other vehicles.
