Great for perfect finishes of skim coats!
Foam backed sand paper is a game changer for sanding final coats of drywall. I now easily get perfectly smooth skim coats. Here's my process for skim coats:1. First coat of mud. Don't worry about small liftoffs or craters.2. Sand down high points (I.e. Liftoffs and ridges) with 120 grid regular sand paper on your pole sander. You'll probably have a few shallow scratches from the corners/edges of the sand paper. Don't worry, the final coat of mud will cover them up.3. Second/final coat of mud. This should be fairly smooth with minimal liftoffs and no divots or voids. Sand with this 180 grit foam backed sand paper. It will not leave grooves or scratches thanks to the foam!4. Enjoy your perfectly smooth walls.

Perfect! Just what I was looking for.
Great quality drywall sandpaper with a spongy backing to prevent grooves in finished mud. I’ll never go back to the mesh for sanding my last coats! This stuff makes my work look like that of a professional’s. Very helpful to achieve a level five finish!

I'm in love
This was a surprise hit. Really nice for feathering out the last little bit of mud that the rigid board leaves. I'm a believer.
