Great Replacement to my older model
I bought this as a replacement for my older 4 and a half year old Sonicare which was starting to sound a bit unhealthy. On the whole this is a brilliant upgrade. The 4 cleaning modes all work well as expected although the standard clean mode takes a bit of getting used to. The clean mode on my old model was 4x 30 seconds while this new model is 6x 20 seconds. Small niggle but not sure why they changed it. I definitely preferred the 4x 30 seconds on my older brush.Battery life is excellent as always with Philips products. I have had this toothbrush for 2 weeks, and apart from the initial 24 hour charge it hasn't been back on the charger since. My older toothbrush used to last around a week before needing a charge. The app, however is more or less pointless and unnecessary. I can't really understand why a toothbrush needs to be connected to your phone, other than as another data gathering exercise, since most companies seem to want to know as much about you as possible.Overall, an excellent toothbrush and a great upgrade over my older Sonicare. I just hope it lasts as long!App is unnecessary

Good but not durable
My old diamond clean lasted for years. This time something internal near the head started rattling after about a year. It still brushes but something seems off like the brushs arent holding as firmly maybe. It's an expensive brush, expected better but it still cleans pretty well. My old sonic care still better though.

Your teeth feel so clean
These are a must have if you are concerned about your health. Just visited the dentist who said I didn't have any tarter build up! That's never happened before. I made my partner get one and bought this twin set for my kids for Christmas so I can be sure their teeth are at their best. Buy one you won't regret it, your teeth feel so much cleaner!

Good cleaning, but unreliable toothbrush, poor quality, and intermittent faults
I bought this toothbrush in a sale on Amazon with a considerable discount. Delivery was next day via prime delivery. The toothbrush looks good, and the charging case is handy while travelling. The toothbrush cleans well, though it automatically cuts off after 2 minutes (or a little more when using the deep clean/whitening modes). This means you need to time each area of your mouth to be cleaned - if you spend too much time on one area, then other areas will not be cleaned in time. Of course, you can restart the toothbrush for this, but it's quite a poor design. The toothbrush should 'sense' where you have cleaned and only shut off after all areas of the mouth have been cleaned.Despite the positives of the toothbrush mentioned above, my experience with the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 has been marred by intermittent faults - primarily related to charging (or lack of!). At random intervals, the toothbrush just stops charging. Usually this can be remedied by cleaning the bottom of the toothbrush (which is used for the wireless charging) as this often attracts toothpaste residue.Today however, my toothbrush completely packed in without warning. It wouldn't charge, despite being completely clean underneath.I don't mind paying for a quality product, however I had expected a far better experience than this! Philips used to be a respectable brand, but now I'm very hesitant to buy anything by Philips again. As for toothbrushes, I purchased an Oral-B iO9 (also on offer) today. I used one of these before the Sonicare and found it to be a very reliable toothbrush - unlike the Sonicare.Until Philips improves their build quality and reliability, I can't recommend Sonicare toothbrushes.

A great toothbrush with a gimmick that can leave it bricked
My previous Philips Sonicare DiamonClean toothbrush finally stopped charging properly after almost 9 years of use so I thought I would upgrade to the latest and greatest. The new toothbrush has a feature that allows you to adjust the intensity, a feature I'm not sure I will ever use, but it's an option that is there. It also has a much smaller charging stand. Personally I preferred the glass to this new perspex base, but unfortunately Philips have not made this toothbrush backward compatible with the old charger, which has a higher charging wattage. As they have introduced bluetooth connectivity with an App, I thought I'd give that a go. I connected my new handle to the app and was immediately required to allow my hygiene data to be shared with Philips to be able to use this feature. As I wanted to see what it was all about, eventually, after multiple attempts to continue without ticking the box and being sent back to the start screen of the App, I complied and checked the box that I did not agree with. I strongly feel that this is wrong. After giving up my privacy to use all of the features of the toothbrush, I was informed there was a firmware update available. This is where things went downhill fast. The update bricked the toothbrush that entered a cycle of flashing lights. After talking with Philips support, I was advised to get Amazon to replace it, which they did, next day. Amazon, your customer service was amazing here, well done! When the new brush arrived, I ensured I did the firmware update first, to make sure that if it happened again, I could just reject it immediately. Fortunately with this new handle things went smoothly and it updated and is still working.Having spent a few weeks now with the toothbrush and the app I can say that the App is a gimmick. Even worse, there is no need to require sharing my hygiene data with Philips for its features to work as the "suggestions to improve your brushing" are limited to saying if your average brushing session is too short or using too much pressure. All of this is averages that can be calculated on device! If you forget to launch the app before you start brushing, you get no data from that session. If you switch app whilst brushing, it records the brushing time as how ever long you'd been brushing for when you switched the app. Personally I think it would be better not to record this at all, as it's just adding inaccurate data into the log.So my advice: If you buy this toothbrush, don't bother with the app, just use it on its own. It still has a built in timer that tells you when to move onto the next session. It still has pressure alerts from the handle. There is a light for when the toothbrush head needs replacing. There is simply no benefit to the app for someone who brushes their teeth twice a day for the length of time the timer in the handle runs.Forget the app, enjoy a good toothbrush. Hopefully it will last as well as the one before!

Best toothbrush I ever had
We have been using this brand since 10yrs ago and as our toothbrushes needed full replacement ( after 5yrs) we decided to buy this same brand again as has improved so much our dental healthcare to the point we do not have any issues with tartar anymore. Definitely will continue to use these toothbrushes brand
