Worth Every Penny - Great Thermometers
Purchased both the 4" and 2.5" stem approximately six months ago for my trailered barbecue pit. The build quality is excellent, and it doesn't hurt that they are manufactured in the United States (Rochester, NY). Over the last few years, I have purchased a good number of cheaper ($15-$20) thermometers, which are, A. not accurate, and B. become unusable after a few months. So far, this thermometers are still dead-on, and working great. The construction of the thermometers is excellent. They are very sturdy, and have stood up quite well to a lot of abuse over the last six months. If you made a significant investment in your pit, these will more than pay for themselves in longevity and functionality.

High quality upgrade to smoker
Stong and durable metal construction with easy to read dial from a distance. Easy to install in door of my OKLAHOMA JOE vertical smoker. A bit pricey but your paying for the Tel Tru proven accuracy.

Just all around good product.
if youre serious about your grill or smoker then put a Tel-Tru thermometer on it. They are spot on with the temp and last forever. I have pined a few at 500+ degrees with no damage to the instrument. Just all around good product.

Nice upgrade for my Weber Smoker.
It's well made, accurate and worth every penny. Much easier to check the temps.

Easy to Read
With a quick glance, you have your temparature. I needed a thermometer that had enough threading to place on the back side(smoking area) for a new PK I bought. The lid is a cast aluminium and about 1/4 inch thick. You will also need to order the bolt and washer or find one elsewhere. The drill hole is 13/16ths for the thermometer.

Not accurate must be a lemon
Mine is nearly 50 degrees off. I retested again with stem entirely covered and into my bbq and same answer. I don't believe the company stinks but my thermometer stinks bad, it must be a lemon comparing other reviews. Tested against a thermapen, and another thermistor type model AND a faithful old model "tru temp" bi metal, which read within 3 degrees of each other. Bi metal in general frustrates me but just wanted at least a close reading. Not happy as I drilled a new hole and all.. how did this get past anyone?

Nice BBQ Thermometer
I have 2 of these on my smoker, installed at grill surface vs. up top where the original thermometer hole was. They do a fine job and the large dials are very nice. The 2nd one I got came with no mounting nut and washer, which seemed odd. Maybe that is to keep the price down as the nut and washer retail for another $6-7 purchased separately. I bought an inexpensive nut at a hardware store and made a washer out of stainless steel wire.
