Is the dark gray the only color with the extra child support strap (that goes behind child’s back)? It is the only one with it pictured.

Mine is gray on the straps, clips and seat part the outer sections is tan/khaki. One of the pockets has white mesh on the sides.

Can you remove the shoulder strap?

You can remove the shoulder strap, but using it will make the force more uniform and you will be more comfortable and relaxed.

Can this be used without the shoulder strap ?

You don't have to wear it, but I will say that I bought this one because it has a strap. I have a similar hip seat without a strap and it digs into my groin when I walk (my son is heavy lol), but this one with the strap keeps it balanced and doesn't dig.

I was a size 16 when I bought it. I was about at max but worked well. Hope that helps.
