These are very fresh, moist, sweet, easy to eat and digest. I've had another brand that were drier, but these are succulent, and they 're wonderful as snacks or in salads. Good with rice and vegetables as well. I highly recommend them.

I received the chestnuts in professional packaging. However, upon opening a sealed bag, I found that the chestnuts were wet, slimy, and emitted an unpleasant odor. This was quite disappointing. As someone familiar with the rarity of native chestnuts in North America, this was my first experience with imported chestnuts, and it was far from satisfactory. It appears that something caused them to go bad. Based on my research, this seems unlikely to be a matter of acquired taste. Therefore, I will opt for purchasing raw chestnuts in the future.
