GREAT BOW, BUT STRINGING IT CAN BE TRICKY
This is a good recurve bow. I bought it for my 13 year old daughter for Christmas. The main part of the bow is made from layered hard woods and polished to a smooth surface/shine. The extensions are either painted fiberglass or painted wood and are easily connection via metal tension knobs to the main part of the bow. The hardest part of putting this bow together is the stringing of the bow. It will appear that the string is too short, but trust me it is the right string for the bow. The instructions recommend using a bow stringer device (sold separately).. Unfortunately the ad does not mention this anywhere, so you won't realize it until after you have purchased the bow. As long as you know how to string the bow without at "bow stringer", you won't have any problems. I used to string many bows during archery class when I was in college, so it was an easy process for me. You can also take it to a local archery store or indoor range, who probably will have someone available to string the bow for you (for free). Good product and well worth the price paid.

The quality of the bow is good and the price is great
I purchased this bow for my girlfriend so that she can shoot with me and we were both extremely happy with it. The bow came on time without any damage. I have experience with takedown bows prior to this one, so I had no problem assembling it, but my always skeptical significant other was glad it came with instructions to help guarantee that I did it right. The bow didn't come with an arrow rest, sights, or a bow stringer, so I had to purchase those separately. We opened it up on Christmas day and the first thing we did was put a simple Bear arrow rest on it and ran outside to take some test shots. Boy was it smooth! It shot like butter and there was very little hand shock. I'm no expert, but for what it's worth, I believe this bow is an excellent buy.The quality of the bow is good and the price is great. On top of all that, the bow looks very attractive and my girlfriend really liked the wooden riser and the white limbs. Even the Spirit logo is tastefully placed and doesn't detract from the overall look. Definitely recommended.

Great starter bow for my daughter
I wanted a bow for my daughter who is learning archery. The Spirit 62" Beginner Youth Recurve Takedown Wooden Bow 18 lb meets that requirement perfectly. It is easy to assemble. My daughter's first impression at archery with this bow has been a positive one. Now she would like a 25 lb bow but starting with 18 lb worked well for her.

Ok for short range extra arrows.
It like to start off with a positive. They are gorgeous looking arrows. I love the way they look in my quiver. Now the bad. The knocks are awfully wide. I didn't realize this until I took them to the range to try them out, along with my last three "good arrows" and it turned out they didn't fit my string at all. Bummer. So on the way home I picked up some sand paper and sanded them down a few millimeters. See photos.Next are the tips. On my second shot at the range today, on the practice area, at 25 yards, the hay was enough to dislodge the tip. Now trapped in a hay stack. That was pretty disappointing. It happened with two of the ten arrows. One would think that the creator would use a stronger adhesive. See photos.Lastly the nice looking thread work probably won't hold up long. I am no arrow smith, but if I made these I would use an adhesive to keep the threads on better. As far as firing goes. They are heavy and not super wel balanced. I use a 35lbs recurve bow and it's really not feasible to get these flying well past 30-35 yards on the far end. With that said, they do make really nice backup arrows, or extras to let a beginner use their first time out.

Looks well made but was concerned about lower limb
This bow looks and feels fantastic for the price. However I was concerned at first about the end of the lower limb being a little twisted. Not sure that it should be shipped that way or if this is something the customer should have to address.

Great beginner target bow
This is my first bow and I'm very impressed. I ordered the 26lb and I use it for target shoots in the meadow. It's a sturdy and well made construction, easy and clear on how to put together. The wood grip is comfortable and fits my hand perfectly. I also ordered a bow stringer - I would never attempt to string this over my twiggy little legs - and after stringing a couple of times, it is easy to string. The only other thing I wished I ordered with this is an arrow rest.

Great!
22lb perfect for my tall 10 year old (almost 11 year old) daughter! She loves it! It's the same one her summer camp uses. Easy to string. Works well with 30" arrows. We got a foam target and arm guard.

It's a nice solid bow and once strung the limbs are very ...
Sure seems stronger than 32 lb pull at full draw, but I am 5'11" and have a longer draw than my daughter who is 5'4". It's a nice solid bow and once strung the limbs are very solid and no wiggle. I still have to mount a stabilizer and arrow rest - we will skip an arrow nock for now, since I want her to learn how to release properly and not just with some trigger gadget (we sorta think it's like cheating...)I wish the string provided had one larger loop on one end - enough to fit over the limb. I was taught 2 ways to string, and both would benefit from a large loop (though there may be an even better reason not to have one big and one small). With one large loop on one end of the string, you can hold the bow facing you and brace the limbs with your foot and weak hand locked, drawing the riser toward you in a "sawing" motion and sliding the string up to the notches with your weak hand. The other way is the good old "sit-down" method where you use your butt to brace the riser with the limbs pushing against your strong hand and opposite ankle. Either way works and both would benefit from making the loop handling portion a one hand affair.
