Kasugai Muskmelon Hard Candy

I decided to buy these cause they were on special at the time, I think 4 something instead of the usual 6 something, at the time of this review. I had wanted to get the Kasugai gummies but they're still too pricey, so I saw these hard candies from the same brand. Decided to give them a go. They're nice, round, smooth hard candies. They're single candies and are wrapped individually. The wrapper has a cute melon on it so it makes it look like the candy itself has the melon design/print on it. For me, personally, I love them! The taste isn't subtle at all. You get the meon flavour. It's almost as if you're eating the actual melon itself, albeit with added sugar. That being said, for me, it's a tiiinny but too sweet for me. Mostly when you bite it too soon. If I suck it till it's basically nothing then it's not too sweet. But again, this is my personal taste and my taste buds. So for some, this might not be that sweet, for others it might be a little too sweet. And then for the rest it's the perfect balance. I say if I don't bite it too soon, then I'm in the "it's a perfect balance" bracket. I even shared with two of my coworkers so far, and they loved them too. I shouls have counted how many came in the bag.. I have 13 left, gave 4 to coworkers (2 each) and I probably ate at least 4 or 5 already so maybe gives about 20-ish candies. A decent amount for the discounted price. Probably will only buy this when it's under 5, cause it's good but not $6+ good. If you're a fan of melon I say definitely buy this at least once in your life!

The flavor is so good and distinct. I love it. Repurchased it many times. Can't go wrong with it, if you're debating trying it, just do it. It's cheap and delicious and not something you'll find at any store.

This candy tastes like a real melon - similar to a honeydew melon. It has a mild flavor, very smooth. It does not have an artificial taste. I especially like the shape and size - a round disk with no rough edges. It's not too big. I'm a big fan of hard candies. My favorites are Clayeys lemon and a Korean orange flavored candy. This is a great candy.

If you like muskmelon then you’ll love these. They taste EXACTLY like them, and they’re not too sweet. Definitely will continue to buy these.

Such a good flavor! Fresh. Can’t recommend these enough! Only reason I stopped buying them from here is That I found them at a local Asian market.

These things are different. Obviously a Chinese candy but a good taste, I had several broken ones in the bag. Which is why it's getting 3 stars and not 5

These candies are very fruity, and have a nice amount of musk melon flavor. My problem is that they're much too sweet. They're almost cloying, and I find them almost sickeningly sweet. My husband and daughter both liked them, my husband, most of all. I'm hooked on the lychee flavor, and figured I'd like these, since I like melons of all kinds. If they'd been slightly less sweet, it would have been difficult for me to pick a favorite between the two varieties, but I only had two before giving the rest to the family. I'll still buy these in hopes of keeping them out of my lychee candies.
