2yrs and still going!
Update: I have just repurchased another of these as the first one lasted incredibly well! 3yrs I used it for and just in the last month or so, the battery stopped holding charge as well but I would still recommend this fab compact vape!I bought this vape in March 2022 and it’s still working the same today as it did on day one!Battery life is good (even when having ‘chuff like a chimney day’), and the coils etc are super easy to find (other vapes I’ve had you struggle to find the right paraphernalia)! It’s been dropped, kicked, and even drop-kicked! But it’s still going

Works
I had a sky solo plus before this and it leaked everywhere if i put more than 20% capacity or tipped it in any direction and the rpm80 hasn't done that at all for me ! Voltage is perfectly adjustable if you don't want a huge hit on first inhalation and it fits snug in any pocket.

Comparison review to it's predecessor (RPM40)
I've been using this mod (smok Rpm80 with built in battery) for a couple of months now after upgrading from my Smok RPM 40 when it died on me, so I'm going to review as a comparison to that.TL;DR - same taste/vapour/fire speed, double the battery life, ability to refill and see eliquid level without removing the pod is a massive upgrade.Firstly I will say that it's a brilliant choice for people new to vaping. Simple to learn as it's not got any complicated functions, the coil presses in without any screwing/taking caps off etc, easy to fill with the top valve, nothing complicated at all.I've been vaping for several years, from big boy 80-100w tanks to recent pod style vales... this is my current mod of choice, here's my comparison to the previous rpm40:- Battery:This Rpm80 has double the battery life at 3000mah vs 1500mah for the predecessor rpm 40. I'm a chain vaper, constantly at it, and when vaping at 14w it easily lasts me the full day and around half of the next day too (this would be very different if using the other pod at a higher wattage!) I'm guessing it would easily last two or more days for someone who isn't constantly vaping like I am. The RPM40 at same wattage/usage would run out of battery by early evening for me.It takes around an hour for a full charge with a micro USB cable.- Size/weight:This rpm 80 mod is a little bigger as you can see in the photos. The front view and height difference is marginal and only because of the extended drip tip, but the side depth is a little more. It's still easy enough to hide in clenched fist for a stealth vape. The weight difference is barely noticeable when I hold one in each hand. Both charge with the old micro USB port and have fixed batteries (though the rpm80 has a removable 18650 battery upgrade option, which I considered but am glad I didn't bother with due to this lasting all day. The negative of this choice is that this battery will eventually wear out and won't be replaceable, but for the price I don't see it as a problem to just buy a new mod).- The TANK (a huge upgrade) :Being able to see the level of eliquid left and fill up the tank without taking it off the mod is such a huge upgrade compared to the RPM40!! It's very easy to refill whilst walking etc.The EU regulated tank comes with a rubber insert to make it 2ml, but with some nail scissors and tweezers and patience I was able to cut the rubber inside until it was in chunks I could remove, making it 5ml. At 14w I refill the tank once or twice in a day (when it gets to around 1/3rd left, to avoid burning the coil). You can buy 5ml tanks on ebay but in my past experience doing this with other mods they tend to be Chinese knock offs that are more prone to leaking.- Taste: the flavour is pretty much the same when using the same smok Rpm coils (though this device comes with two tanks so can vape higher wattage mouth to lung with the other tank and different coils if perferred).I get around a week out of my rpm coils at 14w with a sweet eliquid (but again, I'm a chain vaper) but as with the rpm40 find them pretty unreliable and often by day 5 the taste isn't as good and I would prefer to change them. My bf still uses his rpm40, doesn't vape as much as me and vaoes menthol ice, he likewise changes the coil weekly and also complains about bad batches of coils... But it's been a while since I've had a mod that hasn't been really hit or miss with the batches of coils really.- Functions:I believe the functions are the same on both mods, very simple but does the job. 3 clicks of the power button to lock, 5 to turn off/on, adjustable wattage/screen font colour and a puff count that can be reset. The fire speed of a blast is quick but not instant. None of the fancy curve options, voltage adjustments etc, but I never found them necessary anyway.- Erognomics:I prefer the rounded shape of this new mod, but I do find I often block the back airflow hole with my index finger when holding it. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the new drip tip as back in the days of removable drip tips I was quite fussy with them, but I do like it and find it comfortable to use (though I slightly preferred the grooved sloping rpm 40 tip).- Overall vaping:The two mods are pretty identical in taste/vapour, firing speed, both cap at 8 seconds of vaping to avoid accidental pocket pressing (though for lower wattage vaping I do wish this were a little longer). Both tanks are a little prone to leaking a little into your mouth, especially if not left upright when not using it.Final consensus - the battery and tank are a vast improvement, but overall vaping quality is the same as its predecessor when using the same coils. The size difference doesn't bother me as much as I feared, it still fits fine into pockets :) I really like this mod and recommend it for both newbies and connaseurs alike!

Decent battery life, produces loads of vapour.
This is a top quality, pocket sized vape. The pod is attached by powerful magnets, which makes it easy to use, the display is clear and the power level is easy to adjust.

SMOK cutting corners, dissapointing....
What to say about this vape, first off I have used SMOK for 4 years, starting with a Nord 4 which was excellent and lasted me 2 years before I decided it needed replacing, leaky pods and the leather coming away from the unit, it had a decent run IMO, still held charge but the quality of the pods changed over time and started leaking more frequently, Next off I cheaped out and bought a Nord C, it was a downgrade though it also served me quite well, not quite as a good as the Nord 4 in a lot of ways, wattage, battery capacity, build quality etc and finally decided to buy the Smok RPM 80 to replace it, initial impressions are very good, large battery capacity, feels solid, so much more so than even the Nord 4, but my biggest gripe and I for the life cannot fathom why Smok have decided this, but it uses a micro-USB charging cable and not USB-C as with both my previous units, already I have had issues plugging it in which will no doubt continue to plague me, this is like a 2015 standard, USB-C should be the standard regardless, having to fiddle around or look with my eyes which are not the best is an absolute PITA, no excuses, this was an extremely poor move from SMOK and I don't know what they were thinking using Micro-USB in this day and age. Another little gripe is the rubber filling cap, I know over time these eventually degrade and break forcing you to replace an otherwise good pod, the Nord C for all it's shortcomings and lower build, lower battery capacity at least had this nailed with the pin drop top fill, pop the mouthpiece off, stick your vape bottle into the filling hole and done. IMO the SMOK RPM 80 has gone backwards in these 2 ways, time will tell how much of an issue they will be, but the biggest one is definitely using Micro-USB, inexcusable IMO.

Cheap and amazing vape!
I have used both coils today with different flavours and watts and both have been amazing on flavour, hit and cloud (if that’s what you really care about!) can’t fault the mod at all!
