Berberis thunbergii 'Orange Sunrise' Japanese Barberry Potted Garden Shrub (20-30cm (Incl. Pot))

Nice sturdy little shrub. Well packaged & promptly delivered. Doing well in a pot but won’t see the full colour until later in the year.

The plant received was a weedy and stunted individual with barely any material around the roots. The packaging was poor, and the plant was delivered a day earlier than advised, so spent about four hours in a hot porch. I soaked it and planted it out immediately, and have watched it like a hawk since. The original foliage (only about ten leaves) fell off within a day, but thankfully there are a few green buds now appearing, so I'm going to stick with it and see if we can encourage it back into life. Garden centres ONLY from now on for my plants, even for more unusual or specific species - post is not an option, I'm sorry.Update - sadly this plant has now died, despite my vigilance.

Small, scrawny plant, not clearly labelled and no care instructions. A bit expensive for what I received. Will have to wait & see if it grows well
