Excellent machine!
I’ve had my machine for a while now and I’ve made quite a few projects with it. I am absolutely thrilled with how well it works. There are more than enough stitch functions for most sewists. This machine is mechanical instead of digital which means I can clean and maintain it on my own and not have to worry with electronics and circuits breaking down. Don’t be intimidated by the word “mechanical” if you’re new to sewing. Everything is as easy as turning a dial.Like most machines it works best if you remove the throat plate and clean and oil it after every project. It’s insanely simple and takes me about 5 minutes to do. You can find tutorials online, and other than the oil (which is cheap and lasts forever) this machine comes with all of the tools you need although I recommend buying a tiny screwdriver set if you sew a lot. I’ve even set the timing on this thing after a mishap with an aftermarket ruffled foot and was amazed at how simple it was to do.I also like that if you learn to listen to this machine it’s going to tell you waaay ahead of time if there’s a problem so you can take care of it before it jams. The only problem I’ve had with this machine is that if I use the upright spool pin the thread sometimes jumps and wraps around the pin and jams. I finally quit using that pin and either use a freestanding one I bought cheap or the horizontal pin that comes with the machine.I’ve been able to sew corsets with multiple layers of fabric and cording with no issues at all. It took me a few tries to get the buttonhole feature right (really make sure you have the lever all the way down, again, watch a few videos online) but buttonholes are now easy as pie.If you’re a more advanced sewer who loves all of the bells and whistles like push button thread cutters and super fancy features, this probably won’t be your fave unless you’re looking for a workhorse for more sturdy fabrics. But I assume that anyone that advanced is probably looking at machines that are 5 times more expensive and will require a pro to service once a year.

Not a fancy machine but works great.
This machine is great. I bought this to replace my 1999 Singer Electronic Machine. I use it mostly for quilting and the old machine could not handle the quilting due to problems with the bobbin constantly bouncing out. I am making a double sized quilt on the new machine. Piecing was easy and the quilting is no problem. The foot pedal works much better than my old machine which was far to sensitive. I also used the machine with some repair work on heavy material and the machine worked just fine. It is a bit loud on heavy stuff but not that bad. I am very pleased with the machine.

Great machine
Researched sewing machines when my old one (at least 30 years old) broke. I didn’t need or want a fancy electronic one. This model has a great rating. The price was right, with free shipping. Got it within 3 days. My old one was heavy duty also. The new one sews very thick material. Shortening jeans is even easier than with the old one. Very easy to use.

The Best Sewing machine I ever owned
This singer is heavy duty and it lives up to it. I made a pair of pants for my husband and it just sewed through that material without ever getting jammed or dealing with any feed issues. It has a built in needle threader to help. I would not ever part with it.

Does what it claims/light is horrible
I previously have been using my grandmother's Singer 457 (it still runs great). The Singer 4452's light is inferior compared to vintage machines. The 4452's manual does not list bobbin size required and its storage compartment is difficult to open. The only advantages the Singer 4452 has over the 457 are a greater stitch selection, better button hole maker, it can handle denim with no problem, and stopping is not required to reverse stitch direction at the seam ends for reinforcement. There are great instructional YouTube videos produced by Sewing Mastery that made learning to use this machine easier. Also, I wish the 4452 had the needle up/down function.

It works amazing
I love my new singer sewing machine. I am a happy customer. I will advice to learn how to thread your machine properly. It solve a lot of tension issues. It wasn't the tension but me threading my machine the wrong way. There is different settings for different kinds of stitches. I love the extension table. I love the many foot pressers. I love everything about my sewing machine. Is sturdy, got some weight to it. I will take care of my new sewing machine. Thank you singer for making this little gem.
