I use these on my boat and as airplane tie downs. Easy to use and has never slipped.

hello,i needed an easy clip on part to adjust a small line to a super tight configuration. i have tried several others and they work, but were too big for this small line. the nite ize cam jam did an incredible job to make the line super tight and firm. then when i was finished, i easily moved the adjustment knob and my line came loose. i was able to remove the nite ize cam jam and store it away. you cannot get any easier than this cam jam. nite ize makes cool clips and hooks. this one is definitely an excellent part. since the line used is very small, it is not for large or heavy items, but i can see this cam jam being used to tighten a canopy line or similar products. great delivery and service.

Works great for a rope time down.

--Worked well with three types of paracord I tried (5/32" / 4mm diameter)--With heavy tensioning you may need to manually push the cam back into locking position, and in general it bites harder when you do this.--Held 150lb load, about the average working load of paracord (which usually has a breaking point of 550lbs for new rope). Above that, I'd be concerned about the plastic hook bending up or snapping in cold weather. And if there are any safety issues (e.g. weights over head) I would not load these down with anything close to 150lb.--Held 75-foot horizontal span of paracord nearly taut (1 foot sag) with a 12lb vertical load (lights and cord) distributed evenly across it.--To tension effectively you need to pull directly back in the direction your line runs (can't pull at much of an angle, might matter for some applications).--There is only one way to feed the rope through the cam, as shown in the product picture. The "two attachment methods" refer to the line either being anchored to a fixed point (like an eye bolt) or being looped back and attached to the hook (maybe to secure a bundle of fire wood).

I bought a pair of these to hold corners on a Coolaroo sunshade. I have turnbuckles in two corners and these on the other two. I wanted something that could quickly be released if a wind storm occurs. They were very easy to use and I think they will work well for my purpose.

Very easy to use, great for tying down items in the back of a truck, extremely compact and sturdy

This is a cool little device that really helps those of us who do not remember knots. I don't camp or climb enough to get those prusiks, bowlines and palomars into my long term memory. These guys help a lot. I use some 1/8" shock cord to snug up the too-open end of my hammock. Voila, like a charm, I can tighten and loosen at will. For the price, the cam jam is definitely a problem-solver for me.
