HellaH87988431 Color Shieldz Yellow Protective Laminate for 500 / 500FF Series Lamps

Fitment: These fit my Hella 500's perfectly with about a 1mm gap between the film and the edge of the light. (Not enough for light to get through)Color: These lights do change the color of the Hella 500's. They do not change it to the deep yellow of a 3k HID fog light kit but you shouldn't expect that from a $35 film. I have headlight armor film on my headlights and they match perfectly in hue. Both let out a very noticeable yellow tint to the light. When I am next to friends at stoplights and a truck drives by you can see a marked difference between their stock halogens and the lights with the Color Shieldz Yellow applied. The hue is a nice pale yellow that gives great visibilityDurability: I have had these on for 6 months now with many trips down California's I-5 and they have held up exceptionally and have done a great job protecting my lights from rocks and bugs.Overall: Solid product that will change the color of your Hella's

These are excellent; far higher quality than I expected. They are a thick high-quality flexible plastic material that is crystal clear, well crystal-yellow, whatever, you get my point - they don't cause the light-beam to become diffused. The adhesive is very strong, but also has enough forgiveness that you can remove a shield if you really botch up an install. Once installed they look like an original part of the lamp, but should also provide some stone protection you wouldn't get with a yellow-glass lens. I can't speak to how yellow the light is if you use clear bulbs, as I paired them with the 85w yellow hella bulbs, which together provide a very bright yellow light. I've had them on since just before last winter. They held up through the winter, car-washes, bug splatter, etc. and still look as good as new. Very pleasantly surprised.

Super easy to install, applies like a window decal. Nice thick material. Looks killer, doesn’t look like a sticker at all. I’m happy with them.

Fit well on my Hella 500 driving lights on my 2017 Outback.

These color shields are terrific and exactly what I was expecting.I have a set of Hella 500s with clear covers and have applied these shields on the covers so I can easily switch from yellow to clear as needed. My goal was to increase visibility and usability in fog, rain and especially snow. I've read all the reports on how "fog" lights are essentially useless except for slow driving to give you better view of the edge of the road, but I will say these yellow shields coupled with properly aims Hella 500s and 65W Yellow high beam bulbs give me dramatically increased visibility in driving snow over standard low beams and a low beam / fog lamp combination.If increased visibility in snow is your goal, these will do the trick if coupled with yellow high beams as well. You will still get light reflected back off the blowing snow, but the glare is significantly reduced and the long range visibility is great.

Excellent quality and changed the look of the front of my truck while making my lights more functional as fog lights.Makes my Hellas rock.

Be aware that the color shieldz look kinda cheap. I put the smoke ones on and had to take them off again, they were a light blue grey, not like the picture, and leaves a clear ring around the shieldz because it doesn't cover the complete light. Good for protection, I guess, but just get the clear ones for protection. I'm using the stone guards that came with the lights for now, would like to get something else but Hella is a bit expensive on their other guard and the shieldz.
