Handy meat mallet tenderizer
Is meat tenderizer was exactly what I wanted. It’s just the right size for home use, not too big and/or heavy. I also like that it has two faces for tenderizing which can tenderize very thick or tough meat or the other side for let’s tenderizing as needed. I had one like this for years and years but recently have either misplaced it or thrown it out by accident and was happy to find another one very similar on Amazon for a very good price.

Good heft for easy pounding
I bought this item with a full head instead of one with a hollowed-out area behind the hitting surfaces for 2 reasons. 1) it is heavier than those others; some other listings said stainless requires less effort than aluminum. The full head of this one has plenty of heft to make pounding easy. 2) The sides of the head are tapered due to the casting process. I used a metal file (with some time and elbow grease!!!) to make one side flat, so I have 3 different hitting surfaces. See the pictures. I would buy this one again, but it is robust enough that I don't see another one ever being needed!!! The price was right, too!!!

works well and cleans up easily
We needed a way to hammer/tenderize some venison steaks to make "chicken fried" venison steaks. These worked perfectly and the meal was delicious!

Good tenderizer
The aluminum coating is a little oxidized but the product is generally in good condition.

Too small of a hammer surface.
I know this is my fault, because I did not read the dimensions on it. It’s way too small to tenderize a normal sized stack you have to hit it 184 times.
