Purchased quite a while ago from Amazon, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 has proven to be an exceptional laptop that offers both versatility and robust performance. EDIT:I thought that it was the computer that was the problem after it failed to charge in less than a year, but it as just the power supply. I purchased a new power supply, and it charges perfectly.This is an excellent computer except with several problems. I will detail the pros and cons about this chromebook as follows:PROS:- Beautiful high resolution screen, with vibrant colors. Just awesome.- Very fast bootup.- Backlit screen.- Good tactile keyboard.- Can be folded back 360 degrees if you want to prop it up on your treadmill when exercising.- Two USB C outlets in case you want to attach something besides the charging cable.- Bluetooth works well.- Touch screen- I love the aspects ratio. It makes more efficient use of the screen's square footage.CONS:- Sound volume is kind of low.-- Battery life after a little less than a year lasts 4.2 hours after a full charge on the condition of a dim lit screen and no videos or sound playing.- Heats up a lot.- BUT most disappointing of all is that it starts to fail to charge reliably after less than a year. This is a vital problem that will necessitate my sending this chromebook back at my own expense for repairs.

Lovely laptop, as long as it lasted. Though battery life was only 4 to 6 hours. Then problems with charging, the left port didn’t work anymore, but the right one still did with a little juggling. Until the world went black after i had the computer for only 1 year 4 months. New screen hard to resource, and costs nearly as much as a new computer. So I'm left very disappointed.

I had an Acer Spin 13 and got the Acer Spin 713. So, I'll take the first question. Was it worth it? Probably not for me because I live in Mexico and paid shipping and taxes but like most of us I'm spending a lot of time at home and I wanted it. I'd read all the reviews of the Spin 713 I could find and watched all the YouTube videos. None of the "weaknesses" of the Spin 713 are there for me. The speakers aren't concert hall quality but I can hear them well enough and when I'm home I send the audio through my Google Home Mini, anyway. That and I'm legally deaf. One reviewer talked about the screen "sagging" and I think he meant when he picked up the laptop by the screen. I have never done that, still haven't done that, and the screen is fine. For me, the keyboard on the Spin 713 is noticeably better than on the Spin 13 and I got along with the Spin 13 fine. The 713 is finer. I also like the larger trackpad although I'm not a trackpad fanatic. The Spin 713 fits on my laptop stand better than the Spin 13. I can open and close it without moving it back off the bumpers. I mentioned I'm legally deaf so I've never heard the fans but some of the reviewers who can hear said they didn't hear them either. The screen is, as far as I can tell, the same as on the Spin 13 and I think it's great. I do prefer the 3:2 configuration. I'll write more next later when I used it more.LATERI've been using the Spin 713 for almost two weeks and I'm delighted. I have no complaints and find the keyboard and trackpad to better than on my Spin 13. I like the shape better because I can close it while it's on my laptop stand without having to push it up so the lid clears the bracket on the bottom of the stand.
