This luggage seems to be built very sturdy. Suitcases are deep and hold a lot. Love the green!

I’ve never owned a really nice set of luggage before. I don’t travel too often, but for an upcoming cruise, I wanted to get a nice set with a large suitcase that I could trust for international travel, connecting flights, etc. I did all my research on the best brands of luggage and Samsonite seemed to top every list. Was bummed looking around to find it was way out of my price range. I was going to get a used set just to get a Samsonite set. But then I saw the emerald two piece set for an AMAZING deal (sizes 28/20), I snatched them up right away. Even cheaper than the used sets and cheaper than just the 28” inch one by itself!! I would never buy from a third party, because I’m sure there are a lot of fakes out there. These were sold by Amazon, and in fact they came in an Amazon box but Amazon put the box inside that still had the shipping label where it was shipped to their warehouse by samsonite. I love the color pink, so I really wanted to find a pink set, but this emerald color is absolutely gorgeous!! They wheel very nicely and smoothly. I do feel that the wheels feel a bit cheap, so I’m a smidge worried about that after some of the reviews, but I’ll definitely update this review if we have any issues with them. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase. Note: people were complaining that there were not locks on some of them as described. If you read the descriptions, it says clearly that the carry on sizes do not have locks. So in this set, only the large suitcase does.

The Samsonite Centric 2 Hardside Expandable Luggage with Spinner Wheels (Black) 2 Piece Set has been on 3 trips now with me, and the only wear that's visible are a few scuffs on the exterior of the hardside suitcases. This 2 piece set comes with a 24 inch suitcase and a 20 inch suitcase. The 24 inch suitcase has been through airport baggage checks/transport, which is where the scuffs came from. Although there are some surface scuffs to the suitcases, my belongings on the inside have been undamaged thus far.Pros:* 20 inch suitcase fits in the 24 inch suitcase for easy storage when not in use.* 20 inch suitcase fit 4 days worth of clothing and shoes. Could fit more when expanded.* 24 inch suitcase fit 7 days worth of clothing and shoes. Could fit more when expanded.* 24 inch has TSA lock* 20 inch has USB-A port on exterior for easy device charging via battery pack (not included).* Both suitcases are durable, and have withstood airport baggage check/transport.* The storage sleeve for the battery pack can accommodate battery packs as large as 6 inches long by 4 inches wide, but it would be a very tight fit depending upon the thickness of the battery pack.Cons:* The retractable handles can be forced out of their locking positions back into a closed position with some force. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but caught me off guard the few times it did it in the airport. I recommend not pushing these suitcases and only pull them to help prevent this issue.Overall, this 2 piece luggage set from Samsonite has been great for me! I was surprised that my size 12 shoes fit horizontally in the 20 inch suitcase. The USB-A charging port is very handy in the airport when you can't get to an electrical outlet. Please note: The rechargeable battery pack in the pictures does not come with this set! Make sure your battery pack has a USB-A output port to connect to the USB-A cord in the suitcase. I highly recommend this set to all types of travelers.

I'm giving this a conditional 4-star review and reserving final judgment for after my international trip in a few months.As for my straight-out-of-box thoughts: I saved some money by buying a used set of three (20" 24" and 28") cases (listed condition was great/like new so for half the listed price I thought that was a good gamble). They came delivered in an Amazon box—not the Samsonite packaging—which was clearly noted on the sales page for the used set. They arrived as advertised: they look brand new and are in perfect condition. The three cases nest inside each other for convenient storage and are very lightweight.However, as I set the TSA lock to my personal code* I noticed how much give there was to getting the zipper handles to fit perfectly in the lock slots. I had to fumble a bit before I could lock them properly. So 1) it wasn't super easy to lock the zippers and 2) I was disheartened at the "flimsiness" of the case. There are quite a few reviews of this set that show the cases being caved in so now I understand that's a legit possibility. I'm hoping the flimsy feel is simply that polycarbonate has give (everything I've read states it's designed to be flexible and is known for not breaking) and that if something does happen in transit it will not break (and perhaps can be pushed back into shape??) Fingers crossed nothing will happen!Honestly, I currently have Samsonite carryon luggage that my family has used for about 10 years both as carryon and checked, and they are still holding up strong and look good. If I could have purchased the larger sizes of the carryons I already have I would have done so in a heartbeat.I'll update my review after I get back from two weeks in Europe which will include two long-haul flights, a short flight, a bus, perhaps a train, cabs and typical car-to-hotel sidewalk terrain.* Re changing the TSA lock code: I did not receive any instructions on how to set the lock (perhaps due to being "used"?) so I Googled it — it comes set to all zeroes; simply insert a pin in the pinhole next to the code dials and keep it held down while spinning the dials to your preferred code. Release the pin, spin the dials and then try your new code. It should open right up.

The whole trip and back, with a layover, and the luggage is still in great shape! Looks good and not broken. What a great thing. I had purchased cheaper luggage for my last few trips and broke immediatly and were never used again. Thank you for QUALITY LUGGAGE :)
