Comfort and function
I had double hernias, one of which was painful and limiting my daily activity. I ordered another truss that was basically a garter belt and a waste of money. Returned it and ordered this truss which is very substantial, well made, and of high quality. It worked well for me with some modifications. I wore it 61 days straight and it was in essentially the same condition on the last day as the first. I have a 40 inch waist and ordered the L β 39 β 43 size. That was too small because to expand it enough to fit my waist some of the hook and loop material on the sides was exposed, digging into my waist. Order one size up and give yourself the leeway to adjust it and keep the hook and loop covered. The elastic straps are a nuisance unless you affix them to the belt in the back. I did this by pulling the top of each loop down to the bottom of the belt (effectively doubling the strap on the belt) and then tacking each strap in place with a row of stitches at the top and bottom of the belt. Iβm no seamstress but it held up perfectly for 61 days of use. I washed the truss and pressure pad each night in the bathroom basin with Woolite detergent. Itβs a pain to wash out the pressure pad β acts like a sponge and keeps generating suds, but squeeze it under running water, let it soak up more water and repeat enough times and you can get the soap out. The truss belt is much easier to wash and wring out by hand. I gave it a 4 for comfort due to the size problem (it was TIGHT) and I gave it a 4 for ease of use because it had to be modified by stitching the straps to the back of the belt to make it convenient to use. If you do that you can take it on and off like a jock strap. All-in-all, modified for convenience it does a great job of giving you daily activity back if you have a hernia. Finally β wear it under β not over - your underwear. Much more comfortable and convenient. Hopefully my surgery fixed everything and I wonβt have a repeat, but if I did, I now have the answer as to what to do until I get it fixed.

Mangirdle
Let's be honest. This is a male girdle. If you're looking for one of these, you most definitely need it. Regardless if you buy this one or not, buy one! I languished for 16 months of pain, drugs, tests, and dread until I finally was diagnosed with and inguinal hernia. 16mos of pain fixed in a minute (till surgery) with a girdle. Pain getting out of a chair? Pain taking a dump or piss? Feel like your guts are coming out? They are. Buy one.Quality: First consider that if you go to a medical supply store you are going to pay 3x for any of what you find on Amazon. When my wife and I were newlyweds I bought her a high quality corset for a little fun. It was better than a costume corset but not a high dollar functional corset. So look this thing is between Adam & Eve costume quality and Victoria' Secret Quality. It's about Frederick's of Hollywood quality. The jock straps are double stiched and strong. The abdominal flap is good. The adjustible "egg" is good and you get two (God bless you if you need both). I think the elastic band could be better. If you use this for a month-ish waiting to be cut it will work. This thing aint Carhart ok?As for comfort imagine wearing a thong over your normal underwear. It sucks but you wont feel like your guts are falling out.Buy a size smaller than the chart. It leaves more room to go bigger than smaller. You want this thing tight, but not back brace tight. One thing I like about this particular one is that you could take it off without removing your pants if you had to (i.e. I dont want to answer questions from under the next stall).Overall, whatever you did to need this (miles of fence posts amd calf wrangling here) was probably more expensive and you're gonna need to hire a scalpel anyway. Buy it brother.

After surgery review only.
This really works, it keeps the correct pressure thanks to the adjustable velcro straps. The inguinal hernia incision is within the path of the belt so it helps you heal by not having any rubbing from waistline clothing like jeans or belts. The pain after surgery is very annoying and trust me, it hurts like a b****. You should buy this for the after care. It is not stiff, its excellent enough to comfort your area allowing you to use the restroom. This belt does not restrict movement but it prevents your belt or pants from putting the slightest pressure by distributing it evenly across the entire belt allowing you to walk without hurting everytime you take a step. The belt does come with some little paddings but i took them off as they will push on area causing it to hurt. The paddings are just way too huge for a belt. They literally are the size of a golf ball and there is no way you can place that inside the belt not causing discomfort. Please note that this is a review of this belt for after surgery procedure of an inguinal hernia and not prior surgery. I was not paid nor credited in any way for my honest review, i just know how a PITA it is to deal with healing and this will help you. By the way the belt does not cause sweating if used under normal daily conditions. If you walk a ton it might but i didnt have an issue at all.
