Better than plastic
Thankfully I have not had to use a nit comb that often, but this one made life so much easier. Cover your hair with conditioner and comb through, wipe the comb on some paper and you will see the nits. These are more expensive than plastic combs, but they are so worth the money!

Works without destroying hair
Unfortunately, my friend bought an acquaintance - a doctor - to visit and a 3-second hug is all it took for me to become infested. I was remarkably unimpressed. It's bad enough being given these blighters by kids but from an adult and a medical professional at that? Yeurch. One of the many that hitched a ride was sadly an egg-laying adult and by the time I'd realised and ordered this, it had already laid hundreds of eggs. The good thing about this comb? It removed every single egg and every single louse, and, in my hair, I could comb through dry without any damage to my hair. For parents that may be considering buying the headlice shampoos - don't. 1) they're pesticides and nobody wants those on their kids, especially when they may need to be used multiple times each year. 2) such shampoos are entirely unnecessary. This comb, either alone or used on wet hair covered in conditioner/oil (a better way to use it on the majority of hair types), will remove every egg and louse, though it should be used every day for at least two weeks (not just until the itching stops) and the recommendation is for 35 days which is the length of time of one complete louse cycle from egg to egg-laying adult. I personally ensured I scraped it across my scalp every time I used it too, just to be sure everything was removed, but that is not generally recommended as ut can damage the skin.Just ensure that it's used over the bath each day in order to see what's being removed, and that it's washed after every use. Easy-peasy.This is of such durable quality that it should last for many, many years.
