Durable for what they are
It's been a year and I've only gone through 2 of these. Mine have even survived flapping around in the wind on the freeway for about 5 minutes twice when I forgot to take off my badges when I got on my motorcycle to go home. One of my classmates has gone through 3. The alligator clips holds nicely and doesn't rip my clothes. If you load up the badge holder to capacity you may have trouble with it retracting all the way because your badges will be too heavy. This isn't the kind of item you expect to last forever and I feel like these are great for the price.

Happily surprised!
I work at a museum in which the only way to get elevators to transport visitors, is to use my badge. I send elevators full of people up about once every 2 minutes non-stop for an hour every day. I thought I would be changing colors to go with my outfits but it turns out, I wear black more than any other color so the one reel has been the only one I've used for weeks now. Happily, there are no issues whatsoever.The clip is strong enough to clip and stay on anything I wear, the retracting mechanism is still going strong and the snap part where the badge holder is secured is still going great. Kinda surprised, but happy about it!

Do yourself a favor.....
These are exactly (and I mean 100% EXACTLY) the same thing as the $8 one I purchased a couple years ago that had a cute button on the front. I took the button off my old one and compared. There's NO difference between the two! So now I have a bag of 15 that I paid basically a buck a piece for that I can glue whatever I want to! No brainer!

High quality
Excellent quality. I am pretty rough with my badge reels at work, especially since I am working with patients and I have to log onto multiple computers repeatedly! These feel strong and sturdy!

Holds up better than expected
These are great. I bought this multipack as I’d been through several of the badge reels provided by my work. I figured if these were crappy, at least I’d have a bunch of them. But a year later I’m still using the first one. Better than I expected!

Good for light weight items
These don't hold much weight. If you have just a lightweight badge, they are fine. If you have weight from keys etc., It won't stay retracted.

Smooth
Finally. Don't know why it was so hard to find a retractable badge holder that works the way it should. I needed one with an alligator type clip that holds well and rotates so that no matter where I clip it, the cord always hangs straight down and the cord needs to operate smoothly with little noticeable resistance. These do just that and I'm very happy with my purchase. My package even had an extra badge holder so I got 16 instead of 15.

Still retracting!
These are perfect. I'm a nurse and I bought these to keep if anyone needed a new badge holder. I've had mine for almost 6 months. It still retracts. It has out lasted many others I have purchased (even at the hospital).
