A Lens with Surprisingly Broad Application
The Nikon f 2.8 14-24 Z lens is a marvel. It has a wide lens which creates the impression it is heavy and lengthy. In fact, the lens is surprisingly light and its barrel length is of medium size. For panoramas it is exquisite, but it has far more application than just that. As a tourist, I find there are church interiors, exteriors of structures of all sorts, and street scenes which don't suggest panorama the way a mountain range or seascape might where the 14-24mm's lateral coverage makes for a most interesting and effective coverage of the scene. The f2.8 also provides beautiful pictures in low light. All and all, the lens is exceptional, and when I am in tourist mode, it is always in my camera backpack.

Fabulous lens but....
The lens is fantastic. Combined with my new Z8, my photography has taken a major leap in image quality, particularly sharpness. Now I want to spend even more money and upgrade my FX lenses to Z. Nikon has finally figured out how to make a lens cap that stays on, kudos. My only complaint is that the lens comes with a dinky cloth storage bag instead of the soft cases that their top of the line lenses used to come with. I felt insulted.

Great Lens - Very Expensive
Excellent lens, no complaints. Sold & Shipped by Amazon a trusted vendor. Lens came new in box with all accessories included. Purchased two months ago, have since notice a huge increase in price since.

Outstanding Lens
Believe the hype! This S series lens is everything Nikon said it would be. Its lightweight, fast and sharp. It handles glare and tricky lighting situations better than any other lens I've ever owned, aside from my 2 other S series lenses. I'm a professional photographer and put my gear through some pretty grueling activities, and this lens just takes the beating and keeps on going. It's a little pricy, but once you use it, you'll understand why. I recommend this product to anyone that wants a lens that can deliver in any lighting situation and gives results that rival prime lenses. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Absolutely outstanding lens, and you pay for it
This lens absolutely owns the sky. Of course it excels at every other wide angle task, but the sky, the stars, the moon, the auroras... And it's SO sharp, even wide open and all the way to the edges. This lens captures not only what you can see with your eyes wide open all the way across the sky, but it captures more than what you can see: You will capture stars and constellations that you didn't even know were there. It's also great for capturing the WHOLE show at concerts, weddings, conferences, etc.Of course I have to complain about the price, but it really does pay for itself if you do your part. It would also be great to get just a little more range out of the zoom, say to 30mm like the f4 Z does, but I get it, the laws of physics are hard to break and you have to give some to get f2.8. Be ready for the size - it's BIG. It does make it a bit cumbersome to pack and handle, and the filters are outrageously expensive as well. This lens deserves a 10-star rating just based on image quality, but it's not THAT much better than the 14-30 that costs half as much, so I have to nick a star for value.Get this lens if you can afford it, but if you can't, then you will be absolutely thrilled with the much handier and nearly as capable 14-30mm F4. In fact, even if you can afford it, you still might consider a 14-30 and 24-120 bundle just because they are so much handier, and those two lenses together will set you back what just this one does. You also won't shy away from really getting out there with the cheaper lenses - I'm absolutely terrified I'll damage the big 14-24 while stumbling around at night. Also, you can spend the money you saved by avoiding the 24-70 to get a second body or splurge on the 70-200 f2.8.

What a lens, I love it!
Just wow! I am in love with this lens and all it can do with it. I can be super close to my subjects and capture so much detail or get the whole wide world in and the clarity is amazing. I am not disappointed at all with this lens and neither will you be. If you want a wide angle lens with some focal options and with the f2.8, it opens up so many options for taking pictures. I plan to do some milky way night shots with this lens here soon in the mean I have attached a couple photos of up close on the crab like 3inches away to getting the sun and beach with the halo around the sun so easily in one shot.

so much easier to haul around!
ive used the older f mount version of this lens for years. i loved that lens but never liked its weight. i finally went mirrorles and what a diffrence this lens is for weight! its so much easier to take out in the field! its also sharper than the old lens and focuses much faster. love it!

Bad customer service
This is terrible. The item was ok. Upon needing to return it, the refund has been delayed 4 weeks. Amazon is denying any responsibility for this. Don't purchase.
