Non-stinging
My eyes are very dry. This overnight ointment helps. It takes a while for my eyes to clear up in the morning after using them but a lubricant eye drops helps. The texture is light and it's easy to apply with my finger.

Post Lasik
I had lasik done 3 months ago and was told prior to getting the procedure I had very dry eyes. After the procedure, my eyes are even more dry, which was to be expected. I had slight pain/discomfort in my eyes since day 1 of the procedure, while I was still using artificial tears daily (about twice a day). This started to concern me so I went in to get a check up done by the lasik doctor. In a few seconds, they were able to tell it was due to dry eyes.I tried this and there is immediate relief. Like the others mentioned, this has the consistency of vaseline, and you drop a tiny bit into the bottom lid of your eye. And like others also mentioned, the reason why this is for nighttime is because it does blur your vision.Me being the impatient person that I am, I got my package in the morning prior to work (office job), and thought I'd try it out despite the nighttime label. Your eyes blur and stay blurred for longer than I had anticipated. It's been about an hour now and it's still blurry enough to make my eye balls tired from trying to strain and continue on with my work on the computer. So just as an FYI - do not use if you need your vision and stick to using it at night.Overall, good product. Immediate relief! The pain that was there was due to dryness - which I would have never guessed!

I Can Finally Sleep Through the Night!
This stuff has absolutely saved me! I've spent the past several months waking up 1-2 hours after falling asleep each night with unbearably dry, irritated, scratchy eyes. I'd been trying out different eye drops during the day and night to try and combat this obnoxious problem. The various drops are fine for the daytime, when I can reapply as needed, but none of them last anywhere near long enough to get through the night. Then I found Soothe Night Time eye ointment. I was skeptical and hesitant at first, thinking that putting a thick ointment directly into my eye every night would be weird at best, unpleasant at worst. But I was so wrong! Yes, when I first put the ointment in my eye as directed, it is slightly uncomfortable; but a couple of seconds and a few blinks later, it always disperses and coats the eye. Then I go to sleep and sleep through the night--the relief from the ointment even lasts a bit into the day. A word of warning, though: this is absolutely a night time (or whatever time you sleep) product only! This is because the ointment does blur your vision; it's best to put it in right before you're ready to hit the hay. Really great product!

Works great!
This is soooo soothing. I used to wake up in the night with such eye pain from dry eye. I’d have to hold ice on it it hurt so bad. This works great when I use it before I go to sleep. I wish it could be applied easier. It curls up as it comes out and I have to touch the tube to my lower lid to get the ointment to stay in my eye. But, no more nightly eye pain.

I don't have super dry eyes
I don't have super dry eyes, but I have some weak capillaries in my eyes, which tend to burst at night when my eye lids rub against my eyeball during REM sleep. When I wake up in the morning, I have the dreaded "Subconjunctival hemorrhage" -the white of my eye is bright bloody-red, which lasts for a week. I used to get these scary-looking red eyes every few weeks. My eye doctor recommended using a night time eye lubricant to keep the capillaries from getting irritated and bursting. I've used the B&L Soothe, as well as some other brands. I find the Soothe to be gentle, but thick enough to last the night. I rarely wake up with the hemorrhages any more. It's a little tricky to get the thick gel to stick to my eye, but that seems to be the nature of this type of lubricant. And I don't like that these types of lubricants make my vision blurry if I awake in the night. It takes me about an hour in the morning of putting in regular, thinner eye drops several times to flush out the lubricant and clear my vision completely. But it's worth it not to have the scary red eyes for a week at at time!

Good balm for dry eyes.
I get terribly dry eyes in the winter time, and I was eager to get this product. It comes in a very small tube -- I was kind of surprised that it isn't bigger. You apply a tiny bit (1/4 of an inch) to each eye. It took me a few tries to master the application, because you put it below your eyeball. I had to get used to doing it in a way that the balm stayed in my eye, and coated my eyeball. But within a few days, I had figured out to really stick the balm deep into the eye area. This contains only mineral oil and petroleum jelly. It had absolutely no eye irritation. My vision does get blurry after I apply this. It is definitely too blurry for me to be able to read, but I can still see well enough to get from my bathroom to my bed, and I can make out the numbers on my alarm clock and all that. So the blurriness hasn't been a problem for me, as long as I can go to bed right after application. All in all, I recommend this balm.

Holy Hydration, Batman!
I have mild to moderate dry eyes that get worse in the dry winter. I tried many different kinds of drops, but they all seemed to dry my eyes out MORE. This ointment is a million times better. I apply at night going to bed and first thing in the morning, and my eyes feel moist and comfortable the rest of the day/night, even when I'm on the computer. It does make your vision a little blurry, but it goes away after about ten minutes. I (VERY GENTLY) close my eyes and rub my lids over my eyes to hasten the distribution of the ointment. I feel it also moisturizes my eyelashes. It's just two ingredients, mineral oil and petroleum jelly. A lot similar ointments have lanolin, which is a secretion from the oil glands of sheep! That's kind of gross, I don't want sheep secretions in my eyeballs. This is fantastic without it. My eyes feel better than they have in years!
