Definitely Worth the Extra Cost to be Safe
I ordered the Body Solid Slings last week after experiencing a significant problem with my previous ab straps. Earlier this year, I purchased the Perfect Fitness Ab straps. They were inexpensive and listed as "Amazon's Choice." Well they may have earned that honor for being so cheap and, in this case, I definitely got what I paid for. After several months of twice a week normal use, one of the straps tore in half while I was doing leg raises. Luckily, it was one of the two side straps and while I slipped to one side, I didn't fall or get hurt. But it definitely got my attention. When I looked at the torn area, I realized that what I thought was rip-stop nylon material was actually only a woven cotton or cotton/synthetic blend. Before buying new straps I did a lot of online research to find straps that would be safe to use. The deciding factor was contacting a local fitness equipment store that supports many of the local area fitness centers. They told me that they sell only the Body Solid slings to fitness centers. They said they never heard of any problems with them at any of the centers. Because the store was temporarily out of stock on them, I ordered the Body Solid Slings from Amazon. This morning they arrived and my only regret is that I didn't buy them in the first place. They are well made of heavy nylon and have a strong and sturdy feeling to them. The carabiners have a screw type locking mechanism that should ensure that they don't open up during use. The arm slings are longer and wider than the Perfect Fitness straps and provide much firmer stability during use and their extra thickness keeps the straps from squeezing against your arms like the thinner Perfect Fitness straps do. The construction quality was excellent. There were no stitching or riveting problems as reported in a few of the other Amazon reviews. The hanging length of the straps was perfect for my set-up but I expected that because I checked the straps' dimensions before I ordered them. I have only used them during one workout session so far (just got them today) but I did multiple sets of bent and straight leg raises and also twisting side leg raises. During each set they felt completely secure and, as mentioned earlier, were noticeably more stable than the Perfect Fitness Straps. The one recommendation I do have to improve them is for Body Solid to provide some sort of pad on the inside of the upper part of the carabiner where it contacts whatever bar you hang it from. I cut pieces from an old bicycle tire tube and slid it on each one. Worked great and should keep the carabiner from gouging the bar over time. This probably wouldn't be a concern to most people, but it is to me. Only time will tell how well the slings hold up but based on my initial impression, and what the local fitness equipment supply store told me, I'd expect them to last a long time. They are more expensive than many other straps on Amazon but you should ask yourself what value you place on not injuring yourself. I should have known better than to trust my safety during a suspended body weight exercise to a cheap product, but luckily I got away with it. Please learn from my lesson and buy the best quality straps (or any other type of exercise equipment) you can afford.I have not received anything from Body Solid, Amazon, or anyone else for this review. I regret being so negative on the Perfect Fitness Straps. They were very satisfactory up to the moment they broke but I inspected them before every use and there were no signs of impending failure. The one strap failed without warning. I believe that if Perfect Fitness made them with heavy duty nylon instead of whatever they use now, they'd be a great product too. But until they do, I wouldn't trust them.I am a 6-2, 180lb male in excellent physical condition for my age. I attach the straps to a 7ft chin up bar that is part of a chin up/dip station exercise tower. With your weight on the slings, the bottom of the slings will be about 65 inches off the floor. For my height it's about perfect. If you do use the slings on a tower like I do, please be sure to adequately weight the base of the tower to keep the tower from tipping over when using the slings, particularly during side twist and straight leg raises. I am 100% satisfied based on my initial use and would most highly recommend the Body Sold slings to anyone looking for a quality product to use for ab/core training.

These are comfortable and built well. Worth every penny. Took a while to be delivered but also worth the wait.

Excellent quality
Works perfectly and comfortable with ample padding. Height of strap just right as well (I am 5’ 11 “) as I have adequate clearance from floor with hanging legs.

A name you can trust.
I needed a heavy duty pair of ab slings to perform heavy pull downs. I was not confident about the quality of the other brands ab slings. I was overjoyed to see the Body Solid Ab Slings. Body Solid is a brand with a solid reputation for quality and durable products. I was pleasantly surprised with the inexpensive price. I’m a happy customer.

Heavy Duty Caribiners Could Stand Some More Padding
These ab straps have good proportions in that the distance from the chinning bar to the bottom of the slings allows me at 5'9" to be off the ground while doing my knee raises. The carabiners are large and can handle my weight easily. The slings could use a little more padding, but other than that, I think i made a good buy.

Great gear
The slings are great, I use them everyday. The only thing I thought needs improvement is the huge carabiners. The material is cheaply plated chrome over steel, after a few days of use they are already degrading. I have since replaced them with aluminum climbing carabiners to great success. Litghter, no rust, and with a locking gate that I actually trust.Bottom line: I love the slings! However, the carabiners are in the recycling bin where they truly belong. I recommend the slings if you're into pushing your abs to the next level of your core strength routine.

A great product that saves my hands for the chin and pull ups. I wrapped duct tape on the clips which helped to keep the slings from sliding and protects the bar. Overall, a great product that does what it claims.

Good buy for the price however quality is lacking
I used a version of these types of arm slings to do crunches in my collegiate athletic Weight room. So I purchased these for my husband who just converted his woodworking space into a gym. They work very well and still do work well however they are ripping where the sling meets the metal ring. My husband 6ft 7in about 220 pounds but I feel like his size really shouldn’t matter for this workout accessory.
