Great for hard of hearing
My husband has pretty severe hearing loss and says this alarm clock works. It's loud enough and because it buzzes at intervals, it gets your attention better than a steady sound that you can ignore. It also has a vibration feature you can put under your pillow. And if that's not enough, it also flashes a pretty bright light you can see through your eyelids.

Junior gets the job done.
I bought these for one purpose only, to get me up out of bed immediately. In short, it works perfectly.Pros:- 5 levels of brightness to choose from- VERY Loud at the highest setting- Wide range of different alarm tones- Optional vibrator- Very user friendly- Small, compact, light- USB port- Looks cool on my nightstandCons:NONE!I only bought this alarm to get a very loud tone in order to wake up a very deep sleeper like myself. This got the job done. All of the other perks I mentioned above just make this alarm clock the best I've ever had. No more being late to work!If this is the junior version, I can not fathom how loud the standard version is, but I assure you the JR is plenty loud for deep sleepers!

Does the job - and probably saved my job
Bought this for an investment banking internship. Was getting 3-5 hours of sleep a night, woke up one Tuesday at 10am after sleeping straight through my Android alarm, consequently freaked the **** out and purchased this. If this thing won't wake you up, nothing will.I usually just use the vibrate setting without the actual alarm tone because the two in conjunction might cause a heart attack (is also incredibly loud and I didn't want to wake all my housemates at 6am). This is more than enough to get your heart racing to the point where you won't fall back asleep. The vibrating thing is tucked between my mattress and the bedframe and the vibration feels like a minor jackhammer. Totally works.Definitely a stressful way to wake up in the morning, but purposefully so: 1) you definitely won't fall back asleep because your heart will be beating so fast and 2) allows you to peacefully go to sleep without anxiety that you'll sleep through your alarm, because there is no way you could possibly sleep through this thing.Lots of customizable settings - alarm volume, duration, even the brightness of the display. Great value.

This is a really nice clock.
This is a really nice clock. Easy to set up and works well. Unfortunately, it wasn't loud enough for my particular situation and I returned it to exchange for the full size clock which is about 10 db louder.

Zzz's no More!
I had one issue where I guess I didn't have the alarm slider fully locked into place at the top position. I don't know how that would happen since it's pretty clear you're clicking it into each setting, but when the alarm didn't go off, that wasn't good. So now I triple-check my setting if I have to change it for any reason. My only complaint is the numbers moving slowly as you press the teeny-tiny buttons. I would prefer to redo my time settings with a fast scroll three times over to get it right in the time it takes to do the clicks or slow scrolling the clock does on its own. That said, every other positive review I read that led me to buying this was spot on. I love the tone adjustment, the volume adjustment, and the vibration device. The vibration freaked out my cat when I first got the alarm and I will say she is not really on the bed in the morning until I'm up and out of it anymore. :-) When you're up and out of bed, it is awful if you think you've turned the alarm off but actually just snoozed it and you're indisposed when it goes off again! Sorry, neighbors. It's nice to be able to set the tone and volume with a special combination of key presses; and I tested and used the battery back-up, albeit briefly, but successfully.Update: After a while this alarm it has stopped waking my sleepy self up. I know how to turn it off and go back to sleep now. :-( It stills wakes me up more than a cell phone alarm, tho.Previously:(I have never been able to wake up like a normal person, (like the elementary school once called my mom because I didn't show up, but it was because I had overslept type of life-long struggle, I was good at convincing people I was getting up in a minute). I also used to sleep through cell phone alarms entirely, I'd wake up to find I'd missed an alarm that had been trying to wake me for an hour in recent times, right next to my bed, with absolutely no recollection of it going off or stirring at its sound. This alarm does a really good job, though. I know how the old me would've dealt with it and I've only fumbled for the off button once or twice, and the vibration is still surprising enough to throw me off my game (of sleeping), I find. The off button may be a little too easy for some, but I hope the initial volume and/or vibration compensates. Best of luck to the heavy sleepers out there. I know the struggle all too well.)
