SHIMANORD-6700 Ultegra Pulley Set

The G guide pulley (has lateral play in bearing and may have holes like spokes) is installed next to the derailleur body. The tension pulley has no lateral play and has a solid body installed at the end of cage plates. Make sure the pulleys are installed so rotation is in the direction of the arrows.

This review is for a RD-6800 pulley kit I ordered.I have a RD-5700 (105) SS on a Speck Tarmac SL2 10 Speedx2This kit have sealed bearings on both pulleys. The 5700 does not. So no slop when trying twist the pulley sideways.I measured the thickness of the new pulleys vs. the 5700 with a dial caliper, This seem narrower. This kit is .004 inch narrower than the RD5700 105.There are no instructions that came with the kit. To determine which is the guide pulley(bottom), one of the pulley will have a wedge teeth.Top pulley will not have any wedge on the teeth. Arrows goes to the direction of chain when pedaling.Easy enough to install. REAR wheel off, do one pulley at a time by loosing both pulley bolt, remove bottom first, then do the top last, Or what ever works for someone else.After a few rides, the difference from RD 5700 pullley to this kit is shifting is more spot on. I can't describe it but it more instantaneous.With this stated, definitely a good upgrade. Recommended buy. Better than buying a RD-6700 rear derailler.Cheers!

Honestly, it's hard for me to get excited about a replacement pulley set... maybe that's why I'm giving the review 4 stars. The pulley set was delivered on time and in new condition (in original manfacturer packaging). I installed it on my Ultergra Derailleur and everything seems to work just fine. I figured it would be a low cost upgrade on parts that needed to be replaced anyway. My only criticism is that the part did not come with any kind of indication of how to install. I found a part list (from Shimano) online and that helped me to decide where the guide pulley went (and which one it was) and get the part installed with the right direction of spin. I'm not sure that it will make a huge difference in the way my bike performs... However, due to mileage I had to "rebuild" the drive train on my bike and this was part of the "rebuild," this part along with the others seems to be a improvement to the ease of peddling and also makes it more "silent."

So quiet, so smooth. Installed last week and the drive train on my Dura Ace 9000 system (with a new chain) and these pulleys felt soooo smooth. Wish I would have done sooner!Simply install. Just note to initially take off the old pulley it may require some force. Be patience and trust “left loosey” :)

This is the only good product out there if you want to replace your worn out pulley wheels. This is an actual OEM part from shimano. The install process was simple after watching some videos on how to do it. I greased them up a little on the inside and they spin extremely smooth. I suggest anyone who wants to replace their pulley wheels to buy this OEM part since it will work with your derailleur and will also last longer than any other aftermarket part.

Somehow my LBS and I missed replacing these pulleys, they lasted for about 6 years and 40000 kms and were completely worn out but still worked.New pulleys were easy to install and shifting is so much better now.

These oem pulley wheels were the replacement for my older xtr 952 and 960 rear derailluers. A service tech at shimano told me these were the ones to get. They worked like a charm and were easy to replace. The guide pulley has some lateral float and is designed to offer quiet chain alignment even if your index shifting is not exact. Pulleys have direction arrows (face out when looking at rd from right side of bike) to help you figure out which one is which. I still can't believe how much they charge for these things, but I'm glad I bought shimano and amazon helped with the price. Good luck.

Seem good enough

Only one wheel has a rotation arrow and instructions to confirm correct use and direction are not included. If the wheels you are removing are unmarked be prepared for much searching on line to figure out if you are a novice

They do the job

Cheap & cheerful Shimano bog-standard replacement jockey wheels. Remember to fit correctly - the one with side-float fits nearest the sprockets (top). Don't forget to pack with grease under the steel cups.
