I have not had a chance to actually use this yet, but seeing the construction and size of the burner, have no doubt it will certainly get hot enoug. The unit is very sturdy, coming almost totally assembled already. I simply had to bolt the handles on the basket. Being short, this will be easy to transport. I do not plan on doing so much deep frying that bending over for a bit will be a problem. The fact that it only takes 8 quarts of oil is also nice.

It is definitely short, about knee high. Works real well.

So I got this as something to use outside as my wife doesn't like the smell of fish being fried on the house. Right. Same thing I am thinking. While a little short I put it on a table and it's fine. I am 6'3. So far I have done a fish fry and chicken wings and it worked like a champ. Getting the temp perfect os a small challenge but it is controllable. I will be buying another one soon. Mine came in perfect condition with no defects. Con on this is it is smaller in the size so you can only do so much at a time.
