Behringer BIGFOOT All-In-One USB Studio Condenser Microphone

So I got this on sale and it was on the box for many months.Finally decided to start a podcast and started using itWas at first sceptical that it was low quality because all the other brand names were like 5 times the price.But in using it and doing zoom calls, the sound is pretty good and no one seems to be complaining

A few months back, I broke my Yeti by accidentally dropping it off of my desk, which made the plug bend the power port. So, I decided I needed a new microphone-- one that would give me the same quality that it gave the 400K+ subscribers that watch my videos. I was not at all disappointed. My viewers event pointed out that it sounded as if I got a better microphone! Now I can continue on with creating content without delay, and maybe I'll start doing a podcast when I get back into the studio.This microphone is way cheaper, yet has the same exact factory materials as the Yeti at a much needed reduced price. The control interface is the same, the stand is the same, and all the components are metal, which makes this seem not cheap (it's quite sturdy!). I've had no problems with this in the 7 months that I've been using it daily, and I don't expect any in the near future.

I got this on a lark since it was on sale during the Christmas season. Being about 1/3 the price of Blue's famous Yeti condenser microphone, I was not expecting to be impressed, but I was. This mic is positioned for people starting out with using dedicated microphones versus using the mics built into a camera, a laptop, or a smartphone. So for people like new streamers and podcasters, this would make for an excellent mic.I have a good amount of experience with various levels of quality of audio gear, so I was thinking that this mic would leave me unimpressed like the Blue Yeti did. My personal opinion is that the Blue Yeti mic is a pretty poor mic for most people starting out, since it is a condenser microphone and it tends to pick up a lot of ambient sound from the environment, so if you have an untreated room, then the mic will pick up too much unwanted sounds and make your audio recording quality quite poor.So I fired up this mic on my Windows PC and set the gain up to a point that I started hearing some excess noise in the background from the mic itself, so this was about 35% on the gain knob on the back of the mic for me. This mic has direct monitoring of the audio using headphones plugged directly into the mic, which is a nice feature. I then set my PC's gain to about 60%. I've got a good quality dedicated sound card that has quality preamps in there, so I opted to use it to boost the audio levels rather than using the mic itself.So with this setup, I got a pretty clean signal with a relatively low noise floor, even when testing in an untreated room. That impressed me and I thought it was due to some type of software noise dampening and equalizing done automatically with the Windows 11's "Audio Enhancements" option. Interestingly, it was disabled so I was getting the signal unfiltered directly from the mic.I did some test recordings using Audacity to capture and clean up the recordings and it took very little effort to get the audio sounding the way I wanted it. I used Audacity because I figured that would be the software most new users would be using to record with this mic.Straight out of the mic, my voice sounded pretty good and accurate to how I sound. All I had to do to get good quality audio was run a compressor, some light EQ, and then noise reduction and normalization.I don't play any instruments, so all I can use to judge this mic are voice recordings, but I thought the mic did an good job in both capturing my voice well, but also did a good job of rejecting anything that was off-axis in cardiod mode. So even though this is a condenser mic, it sounded fairly good.I tested the other modes and they were similar to what the Blue Yeti produced. The stereo mode would be good for people who record instruments or want to do those ASMR type of recordings. The omnidirectional mode was probably the worst of all options, but that is true for most mics of this type, since the mic is picking up audio and ambient sound from all sides, so the ambient noise tends to overwhelm the signal. The bidirectional mode was also good, and would work well if you are wanting to interview someone and they are sitting across from you. The pickup of the audio in the front and the back was equal in quality and quite good. Just like in cardiod mode, the bidirectional mode also rejects sounds from the sides of the mic pretty well.So yeah, this is a good microphone. Behringer is knocking off Blue Yeti, but at this low price, they have done a competent job and I can definitely recommend this microphone to anyone starting out since it does a good job in stereo, cardiod, and bidirectional modes, which would be the most useful modes for most people using this mic.I would suggest that for new users to turn on the "Audio Enhancements" feature built into Windows 11 when using this mic (Settings > Sound > Input (choose Microphone BIGFOOT) > Audio Enhancements ON). With that option turned on, the mic's internal noise gets reduced quite well and one can use this mic's output without editing if needed, like for a Zoom call. I would also suggest to get a boom arm to mount the mic, since if it used sitting on a desk, it tends to pick up vibrations, bumps, and knocks.Verdict: Recommended

Great quality microphone. Very good for podcasting. Repent & turn to Jesus Christ while you're still alive. You never know when it will be your last day on Earth.

I wouldn't dream of a microphone for this quality selling for under $30... The sound quality is phenomenal. I own a Blue Snowball mic I paid $60 for and this completely blows it out of the water. The only real knock I can give to it is that the buttons and control wheels do feel noticeably cheap, and the mute button needs to be pressed very hard for it to activate it. Other than the buttons and the dials everything is metal and feels very heavy and well built.If you're a novice or you're shopping for a kid who wants to try out content creation on youtube or streaming this is really what you want.I'd recommend a desk mounted microphone arm to pair with this. It makes it a lot easier to get the mic in the perfect position and dial in your settings exactly how you want.

Works great but the headphones ja k broke and after taking ingredients it apart the set up of the headphones jack looks like it's not to secure

Bought this because it was on sale and I needed a decent mic for a personal venture. The box is really nice, with high quality foam keeping everything safe inside. The mic shipped with a very quality cable, and a sticker. It's built like a steel brick, and I worry that if I drop it I'll damage my floor. Everything is made of metal, and the stand it comes on feels extremely solid. The sound quality is also amazing, which makes sense since it's from an old and well respected audio company. It's also cheaper then the blue yeti, although only by 20 dollars. One thing to note is that it seems to fit mic covers for the blue yeti, so if you need a wind sock you can get one that's made for the yeti and it'll work fine with this. It also has a universal mounting screw, so if you want to stick it on a tripod or boom arm it should work just fine. Overall this is a great product, and I expect to get a lot of use out of it.

This mic is great for podcast and some music production. I use FL Studio and for some reason get really bad stutters from my pc so I have to turn the latency up to record with this specific mic, but the sound quality is great. This mic is built really well and you can ensure that the quality is very high. The option to change the type of audio is nice because you can have 2 people talk on the same mic, or have directional audio pickup like surround sound. The sound quality is equivalent to my auxiliary input microphone, the bm800. This has more features of course and better quality, but it is mini-usb to usb-a.
