Just The Best
WOW! This is just an outstanding record, you will never hear Bill Withers sounding any better, this album made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. MoFi have done a superb job, the vinyl is quiet, and on this occasion the pressing is extremely good, I had to send the first on back because of a pressing error on side two, but from another supplier, this copy is just the outstanding. Put this on the turntable, turn down the lights close your eyes and Welcome Bill into you living room, it sounds as though he is in the room with you. One of the best recordings i have ever heard. The run was limited, get a copy while you can.

Bought vinyl, should have bought the CD
Firstly this is, to my ears, a beautifully recorded and mastered album, which is sadly let down by the pressing quality. Apart from the odd clicks and pops there are other pressing defects and warping. The album is contained in a really poor paper inner sleeve which I suspect is just adding to the problem of more surface noise. The inner sleeve has a tight fit, coupled with high levels of static made getting the album out first time difficult (I have inserted a NAGAOKA thin inner sleeve to solve this). The first pressing was so bad I rang Amazon at 10:30 pm to see if I could get a replacement and by lunchtime the following day another copy had arrived, stunning service. There is no information on the inner sleeve and the rear of the cover just has track listings not much else, so you don't get the feeling that by buying vinyl you get something extra, in my case just nasty pressing noises. On a positive note you do get a digital download voucher included so one is able to listen to the tracks clean if only as MP3's.I have on balance decided to keep this second copy as although not what I would have wished for, it is a lot better. The pressing quality is not Amazon's fault and the simple answer of course is next time buy a CD version or an Original Master Recording version on Vinyl.I have bought the CD version as it was very cheap on Amazon, so will be able to compare.
